TNR Happenings

heart rate

Your Weekly TNR Pulse

Pats Stun Falcons in Super Bowl LI Thriller!

Be honest, some of you headed to bed early because for the first three quarters of the game, it was a bit of a snoozefest. But then it all started to change in a hurry, just like so many things you think you already know the outcome of. In our sports/celebrity driven world it’s easy to get caught up in all the confetti and hoopla. However, as TNR DCs you guys are the real MVPs. The overwhelming belief in disease (rather than health) interconnects all of us in society.  Every one of us has family that is on the ropes with disease and when you pull the curtain you see a small, old guy with a microphone, pretending to be a Wizard.  Welcome people back to the world of health.  When you hone your Chiropractic and communication skills you bring something to the table that no other person does.  The harder the case and the more doctors who have already given up, the better.  You are not just another DC, but rather a once in a lifetime DC, who loves serving humanity.

February 25 & 26 SuperAcademy!

Be prepared for some incredible wrinkles in the procedures.  A blatant disregard for TNR procedures will not get you through the SA weekend. The two new procedures (concentric circles of accumulated spinal injury and BAs) will be required role play for all attendees.  Of particular note, when Year One Drs. Christy and Cliff Taylor showed Grammie their grand opening flyer, she immediately zeroed in on the Baseline Assessments!  She said “You even have Baseline Assessments for kids”!  SA is a Members only event.  There have been two nibblers, but nobody has scored the H2H date on February 24…probably won’t be around at print time.  If you avoiding SA for any reason, you will kick yourself later, as it is only offered one time in 2017.  Too many DCs are using outdated procedures and they have not upgraded. Upgrade yours today!

Practice Tip of The Week – Serving Humanity and Being in ‘Fair Exchange’

One of the core characteristics of TNR  since the beginning has been serving humanity.  From our communities to a reservation thousands of miles away, members are all in when it comes to serving humanity.  With all of the ‘high level, Navy Seal’ training, when it comes to fees, please don’t cave.  It’s not humanitarian or ultra-successful, it’s both.  Discounting fees, skipping co-pays, waiving deductibles, gym membership fees, discounting children’s fees (is kids chemo discounted, by the way?) sends out a mixed message.  You are not among the ranks of musculoskeletal pain relief only and are very much a specialist.  You have chosen to invest in yourself and become the best you can be. Don’t join in the ranks of other DCs who have chosen not to partake in this training. Take a look at the attached article from Time Magazine entitled, Why The Doctor Takes Only Cash. This is a trend and it isn’t going away, so lean towards people who recognize you for your superior ability, training and advocacy for the unhealthy, and you are not going to see a practice member for only a handful of visits.  People will always find their way to quality!

Writing for LHNC Grant

I wanted to share a proposal for a small grant from Walmart with our members.  There’s a surge of love and humanitarianism that you will feel well up inside of you when you read it.  Every member past, present and future is connected through LHNC.  Amazing what a group of DCs who believe they can change the world can accomplish!

It may come as a surprise to some, but there are kids living in third world conditions right here in our country.  Hideous living statistics on the Fort Peck Reservation include crime, drugs, alcohol, child abuse, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, poverty, disease, unemployment, and undernourishment. These ailments exist at rates that rival places such as Zimbabwe, Somalia, Gambia, etc.  Investing in these kids is a way out of this extreme hopelessness for good.  The inalienable rights of these kids must be restored now.  These problems with Native American kids will not go away until we all unite to bring positive changes.

For over 10 years now, Love Has No Color  has been bringing health, hope and dignity to the kids on the Fort Peck Reservation.  We have also been using Walmart as our #1 provider for all of our endeavors. For our Winter excursion (we call it Christmas on the reservation) every kid gets a present, coat, boots, hat, mittens, gloves, etc to in the summer with our fun day hundreds of back packs loaded with school supplies.  For the last 2 years we have been purchasing large pallets of food from Walmart ($10,000 and $7500).  This summer we will be having a week long Boot Camp, Fun Day and summer camp experience.  We will be bringing in professional athletes (NBA, NHL), tribal elders, doctors, teachers, an Auschwitz survivor, personal trainer (fitness initiatives), celebrity author of mindfulness training (meditation) and many more coming together for one common cause…to awaken a sense of possibility and hope in these kids.

Each kid will be immersed all day in activities ranging from basketball, street hockey, traditional tribal values, customs and language, fitness initiatives, life skills and training to make better life choices and decisions.  Upon graduating at the end of the summer camp, each kid will be presented with a backpack full of school supplies (purchased at Walmart, of course).  Also, each kid will receive a supply of high-quality, non-perishable food to take home and share with their family.  Many of these kids do not eat three times a day and without high quality food, the ever present danger of extreme hopelessness tightens it’s grip.  Having a summer camp experience like this will be a defining moment and swing the tide for many of these kids to make better life choices and decisions.  Native Americans have often been referred to as America’s Forgotten People.  This camp will celebrate, recognize and honor all those in attendance and beyond.  The backpacks, school supplies and food will be a much needed weight off the shoulders of the reservations adults and in addition their kids will behave differently as a result of this summer camp experience.  There has never been a summer camp like this on a reservation and with your help, you will be a part of making history.  Thank you.
