TNR Happenings Aug 27

Have you put up your Fun Day wall?

Being in TNR offers privileges and opportunities not found elsewhere in our profession. Regardless of whether you personally journeyed to the Reservation, did fundraising, or chose not to do anything, let your practice members know how the Fun Day turned out! Create a community for your practice members to participate in and spread the word. Below is a picture of the collage at Heartland in Manitoba. It’s a beauty! If you don’t have an existing LHNC wall, make one today! Your practice members want to be involved in a social cause and here is their opportunity. You can also put this on your website and social media for maximum impact. It allows practice members and potential practice members to interact with your vision above and beyond your office. This also ties into those advance members doing DCMEs! LHNC is prominently featured in the 21-Day DCME Video Program and heavy duty practice members want to be involved at high levels.

MasterMind/TNR Seminar is September 14th and 15th in MA

MasterMind will be held at TNR headquarters in Norwood from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14th. The New Renaissance Seminar will be held at Taylor Family Chiropractic in Medway from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15th.  MasterMind will be an intimate look at driving the economics in your office without becoming a salesman. Believe it or not, even in the current BSO-driven Chiropractic world, big practices are run with PURE CHIROPRACTIC, LESS INSURANCE DEPENDENCY, LESS PAPERWORK, AND WITH A DECIDED EMPHASIS ON KIDS AND DCMEs. If you want your economics to multiply exponentially, keep your MasterMind seat occupied. Like exercise, it can’t be a one and done.

The Saturday seminar will be an in-depth check and balance of your mindset, traps to avoid, doctor-practice member expectations, procedures, role-playing, and a few surprises here and there. The emphasis will be cleaning up your office and shoring up the foundation. Too many times DCs add staff to their offices without a strong foundation. There are so many distractions today that take the emphasis of the office away from growth. Like being at a private school, there will be a lot more individual attention on all participants. There will be nowhere to hide!

Practice tip of the week!

Here is a little preventative measure for all of those offices experiencing exponential growth. Don’t be paranoid; however, be aware that you are going to attract attention when you start growing. You are going to have to learn how to say ‘no’ quickly and decisively. You will start hearing from life insurance salesmen, disability insurance companies, health insurance companies, real estate people, and people selling supplements, luxury vacations, and other high-end products, etc.

What would you do? This is a very true story of a TNR member’s experience. This never happened when this person was seeing 25 people a day. It started when this person was seeing much more than this and causing traffic jams (well ok, not really) in their town with their practice members. At the busiest time of the day, a uniformed policeman with handcuffs comes in with another official looking person that was going to ‘arrest’ the DC and have their practice members bail them out of jail for a disease (MS) fundraiser. It’s all in good fun; however, look at the deeper ramifications. Are you going to have your practice members raise money for a disease? Pre-TNR, this would not even occur to DCs or would not be such a big deal. To this DC, it was a big deal. He was not going to let this happen. It almost got ugly with the aggressive policeman who could not understand how anyone would not participate. Plus there were 15 people standing around wondering what would happen next. What would you do? This courageous DC took the disease man and the policeman away from the crowd and very bluntly said, "I don’t want to participate in this. I am not going to explain this to you, you need to leave." When this young DC put the warrior’s face on, the disease man and the policeman simply walked out of his office and promptly went down the street to another DC who thought it was the best thing that ever happened to him. They took selfies and put them on social media. This other DC's patients raised the $4,000 to release him from the shenanigans. He actually put pictures on his office wall commemorating the event.

Have you ever noticed the humanitarian spirit in TNR?

Lots and lots of members have adopted kids as well as given foster kids a home. We've seen lots of examples of our members rescuing dogs (who rescued whom?)  We see this trend on the Reservation, too, as many members join us every year when we travel to the reservation for Boot Camp and Christmas on the Reservation. It’s more of a mindset and humanitarian vibe of being in service to humanity. Some members have opened their homes up to visitors from the reservation. Phoenix was one of these visitors. Other members send new and gently used clothes all year round. There are even a few members who do year-round fundraising.

Everyone has these humanitarian seeds of kindness in them. These seeds sometimes don't germinate due to past trauma, abuse, neglect, or getting let down. When these seeds don’t germinate, you lose your connection to people. You now separate yourself and see things through the glasses of 'what is best for me.' Self-gain becomes your conscious, as well as subconscious, mantra. 'I win and you lose' becomes a new focus and you look to get things from people and circumstances.

If you’re open to having a trusted someone in your life dive deep into these old, festered wounds and clean them out for you, a new strength is formed and a new humanitarian outlook is forged. This is worked on during your first H2H and, of course, with subsequent H2Hs. We have seen DCs who have never fundraised for anything raising tens of thousands of dollars! We have seen marriages rekindled. We have seen aggressiveness soften into more love and compassion as these people see their success as helping others. What a concept!

Final wishes are final wishes

When a dying person lays out their final wishes, follow them as best you can. Remember, they did not ask for your input and they are counting on you keeping your word to see to their final wishes. Instead of asserting your self-importance with all of the accompanying opinions, comments, and what you’d do, work with the living as best as you can. Even if it’s an unpopular choice, do the right thing. Have a TNR expanded outlook on things like this, as well as with other obstacles that you encounter in life. Not being able to see things from a higher vantage point guarantees a below the line solution that will bring more grief to an already difficult circumstance.

Great opportunities for back to school promotions

Have a LHNC Boot Camp recap and ask enthusiastic practice members to bring guests. Talk about Chiropractic and make the connection that all kids need as much help as they can get. Speak about your free Baseline Assessment offer.

You can also have a HAS dedicated to kids' issues and encourage practice members to bring guests. During the presentation, you could ask them to fill out the Baseline Assessment. By making the Baseline Assessments anonymous, you’ll get the opportunity to speak freely without offending parents.

You can do online promotions too. But remember, people will remember the experience of being in your office. Online is geared more toward informational.

Are all practice members DCMEs?

One of our members who see a lot of DCMEs asked this question on a coaching call: "Aren’t all people coming into our offices really DCMEs?" The answer to this is a surprising yes! By offering all practice members the option of selecting a heavy duty level of care plus more of you, it allows that practice member to determine their amount of commitment. Remember that the size of a problem is never the sole determinant of a person’s commitment to resolving the problem. Everyone has a hugely different commitment level to life, not just with health. From a clinical perspective, outside of a newborn born under a reduced trauma delivery, every case you will ever see is chronic, chronic, and chronic. Another exception is a gunshot wound and you won’t be seeing any of these! Special note to those who are not yet dealing DCMEs: talk with me. It usually takes a specially designed H2H to rewire your internal resistance. They are uncomfortable at first. If you are not seeing these types of cases, you are letting a huge opportunity slide, not only for the practice member but for you as well! It’s a win-win.
