TNR Happenings October 9, 2018

Miyagi November 2nd & 3rd in Medway, MA
Now more than ever, if you are one of the select, discerning DCs who wants to become a once in a lifetime DC, this seminar is a must. There are so many visible and invisible resistances that stand between you and caring for anything other than adult sprains and strains. If you were to boil it all down, being in TNR is all about being humanitarian to the core and having clinical results few DCs ever achieve; as a result, you earn 3,5,10x the income of face-in-the-crowd DCs.
Get out of your scarcity and survival mindset and invest in your greatness. The bulk of your investment was your DC degree. The degree did not prepare you to be successful. If you want to be ultra-successful, you have to make it happen. Nobody is going to do it for you. It’s voluntary. This is not a dress rehearsal for something bigger, this is your life. The private school atmosphere of TNR training is not found anywhere in Chiropractic. It’s one-on-one with all the attention you need to break away from Chiropractic being a pain relief modality with its consequential shrunken head economic value. If you’re not charging your Chiropractic batteries or your spirit, society will knock that smile from your face. All of the kids' activities, birthdays, anniversaries, and vacations can’t charge your Chiropractic batteries.

Another reason to be at Miyagi
Just because you can’t see the Gestapo, doesn’t mean it isn’t out there plotting to get the insanity out of Chiropractic and back towards the predictable, subservient pain relief only model. Taking our freedom to practice wellness and to see kids and DCMEs for granted will get you one thing: it will be revoked. Get complacent about anything and it will fade away. I just heard of a Chiropractic board that wants to remove anything neuro from Chiropractors offices. It also wants all DCs to scrape their websites clean of any articles, videos, and blogs saying anything else than adult pain relief. Health Awareness Seminars, forget about it. In the late 1990s, Tedd Koren was taken on by the FTC for unsubstantiated claims of Chiropractic care. Health Awareness Seminars were almost eliminated. Even through years of litigation, this freedom was preserved but it didn’t stop 99% of DCs from not having one.
There is a price to pay for freedom. Most lower resonating people aren’t aware of this. Be one of those people who doesn’t think Chiropractic owes you something. Make something better because you are a part of it. Become the best version of yourself you can be and the best DC you can be, and expect miracles to happen on a continuous basis. Earn the right, don’t expect it or think someone owes you (entitlement). Most DCs are not interested in protecting freedoms except for their own economic survival, no matter what they have to do (BSOs) to earn income.
The spirit of Chiropractic is alive and well
We can do better, much better
One of the true treasures of coaching is observing my children in their own practices. Talk about once-in-a-lifetime! They are blazing their own trails, not journeying on the easier, well-traveled path. As much as you want to protect them from demanding, yet resistive practice members, CAs who aren’t good fits, mean practice members, commitment disabled practice members, and salespeople of all types, you can’t. Even your own flesh and blood have to experience for themselves the trials and tribulations of having their own TNR style practice.
Getting an adjustment at least once a week at Drs. Christy's and Cliff's office gives me the opportunity to be a fly on the wall. This is what I observed last week. While waiting (it wasn't always this way!!) for my adjustment, there was a mother and an obviously developmentally delayed 14-year old boy. The mother is a Montessori teacher and a fierce advocate for children. It was clear from observing the interaction of the mother and child being adjusted that she was very serious about getting results for her son. She believes in her son and she believes there are people out there who can make this happen.
The mother, as well as Drs. Christy and Cliff had the intent of not merely removing subluxations from the boy, but changing the metrics of his life. As a result of being referred to a specialist’s office that happens to be a DC, the mother sees a different future for her son. Her whole past history of experience, opinions, and beliefs about Chiropractic gets thrown into the dumpster upon landing on the planet known as Taylor Family Chiropractic. Their CA has a smile of pride while watching yet another miracle unfold. Above and beyond the administration, notes, and computer input, their CA also joins in the hope that this kid is going to be okay. She also keeps her ears and eyes open for referral opportunities for the next ‘Zachary’ to experience this high-level quality of care.
After only 7 weeks of care, the child got evaluated with a standardized intelligence testing and there was not a little improvement, there was a HUGE improvement. There was also a significant improvement on his Baseline Assessment! The mother mentions how her child’s emotions are more defined, controllable, and smoother.
If you’re honest with yourself, hasn’t your confidence increased with training in TNR? Permanent, incurable diseases are not necessarily the big bad wolves you previously thought they were. Developmental delay is thought to be permanent in almost all medical, as well as Chiropractic, circles. Not here.
Keep pushing your comfort zone with cases that the majority of society would never think a DC could help. If he has a high resonation and personal power, what difference does it make to a personal trainer if the person he is helping is 50 or100 pounds overweight? The process is the same. The same is true for us, so let's get to work! Stop agreeing with rare and incurable diseases. Stop shying away from the invisible diseases that you can’t touch or localize.
Training wheels definitely serve a purpose. They keep a child safe and upright. After that purpose is served, they must be removed or they will hamper the speed, cornering, and maneuverability of the bike. They keep the bike and rider imprisoned to ride straight, slow, and under control, a sure fire way of ensuring boredom will find its way into your life. When you were a beginner DC, you liked to touch shoulders, hips, knees, a hot low back, do range of motion, and look at x-rays. Take the training wheels off immediately. You don’t have to have training wheels on anymore. Invisible diseases like depression, anxiety, concussions, PTSD, autism, and developmental delay are just as amenable to nerve system improvement as any. The nerve system integrates all, not some of the body. You just can’t see it or believe it if you still have training wheels on your bike.
With these difficult cases, watch yourself for placing limiting beliefs that won’t serve to help the kid or you! You are not GOD, you don’t decide who and what returns to health! Ankles heal, skin heals, illnesses also heal with the right kind of doctor and appropriate recommendations. The higher your resonation, the more limits are removed from practice. If you are producing clinical results that are unparalleled, doesn’t it follow that you are deserving of 3,5,10 or more the income of average, limited DCs? These DCs not only would not take on the kind of kid in the above story, but they also would not have recommendations outside of insurance (this little nugget was 6 months pre-pay), nor deliver results.
It also frees you from the bizarre world of Bright Shiny Objects. When you have developed this type of skill, it creates a permanent, true economic advantage and leaves your purpose and passion intact. DCs started out once upon a time as Chiropractors helping people by removing interference from the nerve system, something nobody else can do. Now they sell everything insurance will reimburse for or people will pay for.
Let's celebrate the spirit of Chiropractic is alive and well. Let's also understand that we can do better much better.

DCME confidential

Question 1: I have a 47-year old that insists he is not a DCME. He selected level one for his care. He has a pain themed case (low back pain and 2 failed surgeries) but has neuropathy in both his legs and limited ambulation and sitting abilities. He usually only makes 2 out of his 3 appointments each week. Should I kick him out?
Answer: As always, the relationship governs the outcome, as well as the finances. Don’t kick him out. You have already agreed to take care of him on his terms and these terms will in all likelihood not lead to great results because of his casual commitment. You can sit down with him again but it probably won’t make much difference. There’s no black and white ever, but would you agree to see a practice member that had a life and death illness only a handful of times? Again, there is a certain flair or firmness and boundaries that must be present in DCME cases.
Question 2: I have a 12-year old DCME girl with anxiety, anger, and self-mutilation issues. Everything had been going along great for 6 weeks and now I got an email asking me to write a letter for their insurance carrier. (Editor's note: this could have been a letter to the attorney of the girl’s father, parents are divorced) that doesn’t want to pay for Chiropractic care because he doesn't believe in it. What do I do?
Answer: I can’t stress enough that the payment is between you and the parent. PERIOD! They pay you, end of story. You do not write a letter. An earlier edition of DCME confidential highlighted a DC who wanted to go on social media and talk about the great results achieved. No can do. Be clear and upfront with everyone before care. If you are accepting a portion from insurance, put in the dollar amount on the 2 care plans.
Gift raising for Christmas on the Reservation begins
The season has begun. The dates we will be at the schools are December 13th and 14th. You will receive a mailing with all the specifics later this week. Remember to make this a win-win for the kids, your practice members, and you. There is no reason you shouldn’t have record numbers of new patients and income. Plus, there is no reason you can’t eclipse last year’s gift total. The emphasis is on toys, sporting goods, and articles of clothing. Emily will call each office and ask what you would like to do or if you don’t care, she will tell you where we need the help. For those offices that have done this for years, we are looking for a few, select people to make donations to purchase food. We are going to have some door to door delivery of food along with Christmas caroling for good measure. We welcome all people to participate in the miracle of Christmas on the Reservation.
Our first donations have arrived! Some New York Knicks gear is making its way to Poplar, MT as we speak.
A real FaceBook post for a TNR office:
My chiropractor Steiner Family Chiropractic is better than yours! We joined to help Cole with some issues and this is what we got!
- a welcome sign with our names on the wall for our first apt - Cole felt so special

Businesses just aren't like this anymore and I'm so thankful to live in a town where they are. We've met so many amazing people and the Steiners are a shining example of what a true family business should be!! #chiropracticadjustment #chiropractor #kidschiropractic
