Not registered for the November 2nd & 3rd Miyagi Seminar?
Miyagi is an eye-opening experience not found anywhere else. The seminar consists of a Friday evening activity in addition to the all day long Saturday seminar. Miyagi answers a very profound question: do all DCs deliver the same results with their adjustments? TNR members know the answer to this question but step outside of TNR, and DCs are deaf, blind, and dumb to the idea that the effectiveness of every adjustment varies with the abilities and mindset of the DC. Unbeknownst to most, it can be continually improved and advanced. It is not done solely with technique. It is not done solely with philosophy. Attending Miyagi over and over again creates a new confidence and resonation or mindset of the doctor that moves away from the society accepted, limited based model that Chiropractic has been saddled with and moves toward health, vitality, and prosperity. It combines and integrates all the ingredients to produce clinical results that few are capable of.
Miyagi is indeed confrontational to your previous beliefs. It will challenge everyone in attendance. You experience Miyagi, it’s not an academic exercise. You stop accepting what can’t be done. Lowering your standards, just getting by, and saying goodbye to ambition are denials, not solutions to growth. Gone are the convenient excuses of insurance coverage, people won’t come in that long, the health challenge they are facing doesn’t respond to Chiropractic care, Chiropractic doesn’t help kids, etc. This inability to accept no or what can’t be done flows into all areas of your life. You become an indispensable person that everyone wants to be around.

I have been ruined for all other seminars. Period. This seminar - if you have to be talked into it, or think about it, don’t waste the seat, let someone else have it. When you are truly ready, this is the key to the kingdom, but you must be ready for it. Trying to explain this is like trying to explain the sunset to a blind person. You can only experience it… Dr. R
Practice tip of the week
Create a community in the minds of your practice members, as opposed to being a commodity. Below is a sample letter I created for Dr. Tammy. This letter can be featured on your walls near where the practice members sign in or in the reception area. You can also use this in a weekly blog. Notice that this is more invitational and personalized, like two friends conversing, instead of stiff, professional, and informational. Switch your topics around and keep it current.
Lots of work is being done in TNR offices that stress upgrading the expectations of potential new patients before they enter your office. Remember, when they enter your office, they drag in their outdated beliefs about Chiropractic and this can be the kiss of death. The expectations are much more important than the experience of your office, believe it or not. No matter how good your office is, it will not overpower expectations. There is simply too much invisible medical programming that prevents and resists them from doing anything else except a handful of insurance based visits.
It’s like a running dialogue that has no beginning and no end. Do not pollute it with current events, politics, religion, etc. You should be entering the dialogue in the mind of the practice member, especially with Millennials and Gen Xs. Make your writing engaging and edgy, not boring. Notice how the contents of this letter don’t get dated or go out of style.
The uses for this type of letter are infinite. Archive them on your functioning website. This will increase the quality of new patients entering your office considerably. Potential practice members with low commitment will not find this writing appealing and will opt out. If you are speaking to a disease support group, create a story about their particular disease to hand out to the attendees. This letter could also be emailed to them before the talk by you or the group's contact person.
Imagine using these with your HAS! These emails will reinforce the message you gave. It will create a surge of interest in your HAS. The key to learning is repetition over and over in different formats.
How about making a short video and archiving this on your active website? If a person is being referred to your office with a particular condition, your CA can email this video before they enter your office.
Communicating with practice members or potential new patients is not always done orally. Start this today!
Subject: What’s the big deal with bedwetting anyway?
From: Dr. Tammy
To my Midtown Chiropractic patients,
If you haven’t noticed by now, more and more children are coming to my office to become healthier.
A particular patient recently spoke of her 7-year-old and his bedwetting challenges. He is very quiet, shy, has few friends, and doesn’t do many social activities. He has never been on a sleepover. He’s been to a few doctors and they say he will grow out of the problem. They mentioned that bedwetting wasn’t that big a deal. For whom?
I was appalled that a doctor could be so callous about a child’s problem. I told the mother that I would love to help her son. She was surprised because she is a patient with chronic spinal problems and she didn’t know Chiropractic could help her son.
That’s the thing about children’s health challenges, the physical symptoms may or may not be severe, but the emotional scars can last a lifetime.
When I evaluate him with our brand new Baseline Assessment for children, I bet he will show other deficiencies in perhaps emotions, behavior, personality, learning, immune system, or even sensory integration.
I invite you to take advantage of our no-cost Baseline Assessment (your insurance will not be billed) for all children under 15. Many parents have suspected their children are not reaching their growth and developmental milestones or have other complaints and concerns.
You have my word: I will take your concerns about your child’s health seriously.
I look forward to seeing you and your children. Most major problems started in childhood but were simply overlooked or ignored. Here is your opportunity to have all of your concerns addressed.
Yours in health,
Dr. Tammy

Intro Workshop in Omaha, Nebraska on October 25th
Dr. Tammy Le will be hosting an Intro Workshop on Thursday, October 25th from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Believe it or not, the leading cause of stagnation in Chiropractic is isolation. A lot of DCs are not receiving expert guidance, are attempting to figure things out themselves, or are looking for online guidance to substitute for the real thing (like taking online Karate lessons.) Having TNR members in your own backyard sure makes it easier. Getting together in person, forming community between events, and supporting and helping each other is the way to greatness and excellence. \What a great way of introducing yourself to other DCs and health care professionals in your area! We all need to be leaders in our communities!

Don’t take your freedom to practice for granted
Just because you can practice the way of your choosing, don’t get casual with it. It’s sacred and it’s a privilege. When you take it for granted, you will become complacent and boring. Being a part of a very small minority of DCs that devote their lives to helping children and adults with heavy duty Chiropractic care will not endear you with less committed DCs, legislators, or state boards. You’re doing something that takes tremendous talent, commitment, and connection to humanity. There is a contrarian nature to you. You won't enter the safer harbor of BSOs or let insurance companies tell you who you can help and under what conditions.
In the late 1990s, a DC named Tedd Koren was targeted by the federal government (FTC) for false and unsubstantiated claims of Chiropractic care. They wanted to take away the rights of DCs to have public gatherings (Health Awareness Seminars) and the giving out of pamphlets. They needed a scapegoat, a sacrificial lamb. They picked on the wrong guy. Just think of the pharmaceutical companies incessant drone of advertising on every media outlet known to mankind. A side effect of many drugs is death, yet they were worried about the side effects of an adjustment? Ultimately, after costly and lengthy court proceedings, the FTC was not successful in their endeavors, but they will be back. Perhaps in another shape, size, or color, but they will be back. A point of interest: 99% of DCs don’t have a weekly, functioning HAS or don't hand out brochures.
In the 1990's in the state of Connecticut, it was illegal to adjust a child under the age of 12.
The point: you have to become a warrior to demonstrate freedom. There is no other way. It always comes with a price. It’s so much easier to ‘get with the program’, as most coaches and management groups say, and become a salesman of socially accepted pain relief activities (as long as they are reimbursed) from rehab, to weight loss programs, lasers, botox, etc. More income-producing activities and less Chiropractic care; and don’t forget to add a dash of downsizing or sharing space with other desperate DCs.
TNR members have rock solid practices that reflect caring for humans with as little interference from the government, insurance companies, or state boards. Welcome to the underground. Keep under the radar. Every time you become embroiled in fighting against something, you make it real: Fighting against disease instead of being for health; fighting against war instead of being for peace. Attempting to convince or turn around legislative bodies or governing agencies is a waste of personal power. There is no solution to that paradigm, only the creation of a new, antithetical paradigm. There is no truth in a courtroom, only the current beliefs of society. There is no health in a hospital, only pharmaceutical and insurance racketeering and inequality of people. You’re not going to convince anybody of anything they choose not to believe in. They will defend their current beliefs to the death.
That’s what separates DC: their true, visceral belief in Chiropractic. My mentor used to frame it by ‘what would you be willing to die for?’ With all the landmines out there waiting for them, few DCs have the depth of belief to be in the service of humanity. TNR is about strengthening each and every one of our members' belief in Chiropractic. There is no other protection available in Chiropractic. That’s why training and attending events is so important. 99% of our profession does not train. Whether you are aware of it or not, society is invisibly, and not so invisibly, taking away your rights to practice with freedom. That's why we train! If a human life is not worth your best effort, what would be?
DCME confidential

Question 1: I have a DCME practice member that just told me she was in a car accident years ago and her lawyer wants me to write a letter for her case regarding this.
Answer: DCME is independent of insurance coverage and extenuating circumstances. There is a legal standard that has to be observed; they have a right to their exam findings, notes, x-rays, etc., but not a letter. A common offshoot of this is with divorce cases: the spouse won’t pay for the DCME and they want you to write a letter about the necessity of the care. Don’t do it. Get paid and let the other stuff go. Deal with it, but don’t let it take your resonation away from caring for your practice members. For dealing with all the numerous grey areas of DCMEs, you must develop a dimension of ruthlessness without hurting people, but also not being swayed by their convincing, logical tales of woe.
Christmas on the Reservation gift raising is on!
Everyone should have received their official 2018 LHNC gift raising packet in the mail. There are lots of great examples of how to make this our best year ever. Remember, this was designed to be a win-win for the kids on the Reservations, practice members, and DCs. Get this out to your practice members and your community at large. Kids and social media are great multipliers that use leverage. Introduce this to people outside of your area of influence. Have a grand prize in your office for the most referrals. Some of our all in types are actually buying a plane ticket to the reservation for their VIP practice members. Make sure you have updated your LHNC wall.
