Get onboard for Super Academy on Saturday, March 16th
By now you’ve received your Super Academy mailer. Keep in mind that the ticket incentive expires on Friday, March 1, 2019. All hands on deck! There will be a huge emphasis on the experiential. Every DC in attendance will be pushed out of their comfort zone in a good way. There are no free passes given because of your advanced training. There is a rumor that a human truth meter that will be in attendance to give you feedback (not criticism) about your communication skills. Nowhere else in Chiropractic do you get this kind of feedback. Most DCs continue to do the same clinical procedures, ROFs, etc, over and over and get hit or miss results. Some buy a BSO every once in a while and repeat this cycle for the rest of their predictable careers. Mastery has an entirely different point of view: we train, train and train. It’s the preparation that allows us to deliver that once-in-a-lifetime adjustment over and over again. The Thursday and Friday before Super Academy are already taken for Head-to-Heads, only Sunday remains.

LHNC news
We have had many requests for the Boot Camp dates for August. I should have them in the next week or so. We are hoping to bring 100 volunteers this year: we want this year to be a tipping point. A pastor in MI wants to bring 15 teenagers via bus from his church. Lots of TNR members will be bringing kids and babies. Non-member DCs from NH, MI, and TN have queried. Even though the dates have yet to be released, we do know the days with reasonable certainty. The Wolf Point Fun Day will be on Thursday, the Poplar Fun Day will be on Friday, and a full day of community service will be on Saturday. The travel days to and from the Reservation will be on Wednesday and Sunday. As soon as we know the dates we will let you know so you can black these dates out on your family calendar.
From the mind of Miyagi

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to challenge or speak against beliefs that have become accepted? Disease, superstition, and knocking on wood have been with man ever since caveman days. Some examples of this: 1) People using the hand sanitizers found in public places. Is it only by touch that these dangerous microbes are transmitted? Whaaat? How about airborne? Cold and flu season during the winter is supposed to be the worst but what about in Hawaii? Do they observe the same superstitious customs? Super bacteria are the effect of overuse of antibiotics, not some strange new disease.
2) Blessing people to ward off evil spirits when you sneeze. Whaat? You see these superstitious beliefs upheld and transmitted every minute of every day via the media, the principle puppets to institutions that profit from disease. 3) Seat belts for the drivers of school buses, but not the kids.
It’s so easy to try to educate your practice members each time they step into a health trap by focusing on the correction for that trap. The practice member may feel like you're treating them just like a parent who chastises their kid every time the parent thinks the kid has screwed up. When does the kid learn to think for themselves? With the paradigm of disease, never. Instead of tightening the spokes, work on the hub of the bicycle wheel.
Don't start to pretend to be an expert on all of these medical activities. When have you ever prescribed a drug, an antibiotic, an analgesic? When have you shocked a kid’s brain or infused a human with radioactive material? It’s easy to meet people where they are at and start telling them what they are doing wrong. How about demonstrating instead, and teaching and inspiring them to participate in Chiropractic for extended periods of time. How about introducing them to health? They already feel bad enough that they allowed their kid to have shock therapy to their brain, and then they can tell from your words and body language that you are judging them as being wrong. Adding to their guilt and attacking them won’t help, no matter how much you want to correct them.
Don’t fight against disease and all of society. Provide hope and inspiration for those brave enough to embrace new concepts (health) outside society’s fascination and obsession with sickness. It’s okay to be separate and distinct. Mutually exclusive states have no morality, they just are. Disease and health don’t work together. They don’t cooperate. Fear and Love don’t either. No matter how much sickness we see all around us, health still is a universal principle. Disease is the absence of health. Darkness is the absence of light.
Practice tip of the week
The art of being a warrior is not easy, nor is it intended to be. There are no shortcuts to being a master at music, art, etc. For those fortunate enough to attend Super Academy, you will see this explained by a master craftsman of a profession that has nothing to do with Chiropractic. Or does it? Once and for all, leave behind the dread of training. Fall in love with being a once-in-a-lifetime DC. There is a reason TNR events are premium and closed door. The real key or success of the once-in-a-lifetime adjustment is all the prep work and training done prior to the delivery of the adjustment. Some DCs place a very low value on their adjustments. Some DCs lower their expectations of clinical results as well as income.
Look at something as trite as exercise. People dread it and loathe the effort it takes. They are constantly inventing and looking for stories of why they can’t exercise today. If we put 9 years of college into becoming a DC, it’s worth training to become a master. I love the books One Minute Wellness, Be Healthy in One Minute a Day, etc. They have a massive audience of low resonating people seeking substitutes for universal principles or ways of tricking their bodies into appearing to be healthy. Health is not mocked by anyone. The end result or effect to being a once-in-a-lifetime DC is created by the means or cause of high-level, intensive training.

Question 1: I have a low-income practice member who would be perfect for Tier 2 recommendations, however, I didn’t offer this to her because of her current circumstances. Is this o.k.?
Answer: The 2 levels of recommendations did not just appear overnight. The at-home 21 Day DCME Video Program is specifically included in the Tier 2 recommendations to address the needs of people who slipped through the cracks before the advent of the two tiers. You don’t pick and choose who selects the heavy duty level. You offer it to everyone. It’s their choice. Don’t attempt to make it for them by pushing them or dissuading them.
Question 2: My DCME seems to be losing altitude. They are skipping appointments, asking an excessive amount of questions, and texting me on a daily basis. What gives?
Answer: Your relationship was either never formed or there are other forces at work here, like spouses, parents, disease practitioners, and social media. Has she attended your HAS with a guest? Is her family under care? Did she pre-pay or at least pay monthly or did you bend the rules? Did you offer to see what the insurance company would do? These are all infringements on a heavy duty Level 2 recommendation. Once a relationship has been marred, it’s almost impossible to restore.
Is it just me?
For years DCs have been sentenced to snoozefests to keep their licenses valid. No big deal, just one of those things you do to be regulated by big brother. Then they started online license renewal courses. The online subjects to get a Chiropractic license renewed vary from physical therapy to acupuncture, nutrition, and disease classification. Where have the courses for pure Chiropractic, other than pain relief, gone? I wonder if acupuncturists have to learn about Chiropractic? Hmmmm.
