DCME Brings Back The Mystery!
The land of the expected and ordinary got a dose of reality reserved for the few, not the many. The miracle, the mystery, and the possibility were brought back to each and every one of our lives. It is so easy to become embroiled in every form of distraction, from new patient woes to chronic, invisible addiction, your phone, the internet, CA drama, computer software, insurance dysfunction, etc. Patient care is way down on the list. Like constant pressure, it’s barely noticed until you are worn down and unable to carry the heavy load of being different from social acceptance and approval. You become ordinary, average, and expected. A sense of heaviness, emptiness, and boredom signal the expected and ordinary life. Not enough of you is left for the bonding and belonging essential for the emergence of miracles in your practice. People must feel safe and protected under your leadership. We glimpsed a never-before-revealed, behind-the-curtain look at the hidden societal forces that encourage or mandate you to follow the rules and agree with what can’t be done rather than stepping up in a big way.
"What happens when you are held to a higher standard? Expectations are exceeded. Thank you, Dr. Kevin, for holding me to a higher standard. Hope returns, breakthrough happens, and a feeling of worth returns. This is a life worth living."
"The more time I get to spend around Dr. Kevin and the TNR members, I feel like I belong, and I learn so much. I am so grateful for the training to bring more clarity to my headspace with things in my office. Dr. Kevin has so much wisdom and has such a gift to share it with us. To see how to help these more difficult cases brings ease to know practice can be more fulfilling than “my back, my back”. Thank you! Thank you for always being in my corner."
"Thank you, Dr. Kevin, for putting the invisible in front of our eyes and putting the real behavior and real motivations of patients to the forefront. The consequences of not training have an impact on each and every one of my patients. This training is an insight into what symptoms really mean, and the deeper impact on their health and relationships cannot be overstated. I will take what I have learned today and apply it to each person who comes into the office with the passion in their eye to improve their life and the people around them who are important in their lives. I look forward to each training because it will serve countless people and touch future generations."
"Thank you for the continued training, each one building on the next to keep shining light to where we need to focus on. The reminding and reinstalling of new concepts take us to the next level and guide us to keep growing. Sharing all your knowledge and experiences with clients shines that flashlight on what we all need to pay attention to that’s been hiding in the shadows all this time, keeping us from progressing and growing into our newest and best versions of ourselves and living and thriving in the ambiguity and uncertainty that comes with our paths."
"The DCME seminar experience is different from any other. The wisdom imparted is completely practical and distilled in a way I can use immediately in my office. It’s one thing to want to take care of difficult cases, it’s another thing entirely to be equipped to help them. Nobody talks about this kind of training and what it takes to be that kind of Chiropractor. Nobody looks out for us like Dr. Kevin - which includes telling us hard truths and being available when we really need help. I’m so grateful to have Dr. Kevin in my corner."

From the Mind of Miyagi

Seeing so many light bulbs go off in participants' heads at the DCME Training reminded me not to forget about the obvious: we live in a society that puts 99% of its effort, resources, and enforcement towards the PROBLEM and not the solution. Negativity abounds, and there is a price to pay to pull yourself up from the pile of the ordinary, average, and mediocre: you will have to weed the garden of resistance (people, influences, regulatory rules, expectations of patients who believe they know best) that dissuades you from being healthy, successful, or powerful. If it makes others uncomfortable, you will be attacked. Think crabs in a box. Your assassins are much closer than your enemies. At the training, we had a mystery call-in from a doctor who took us behind the scenes of a regulatory cover-up, a witch hunt arguing over a diagnosis of a long-since deceased patient. Seven years later, they are still punishing and humiliating one of their own. Aren’t the government and regulatory boards supposed to protect us?
Memes are invented to promote hidden agendas and take time to get traction. We don’t even question them; we repeat them (think gossip or words to songs we don’t even know the meaning of) and strengthen them without feeling they are completely false and made up. Today, with the advent of social media, we watch the news without knowing we are watching the news. Clever. The overall intent is compliance and submission, allowing politicians, authorities, celebrities, and sports stars to influence us instead of experiencing truth for ourselves. This is a flagrant example of focusing on the problem instead of the solution; most people can’t see it. We have a twisted fascination with disease, not health. The only time we can use life insurance is when we die. The only time we can use health insurance is when we are sick. Marriage insurance: yes, only when you part ways.
To be successful, free, and serve people at a high level is difficult but not impossible. You can’t bring the roles you previously played serving ‘my back, my back’ to the table as they are irrelevant to DCME/Level 2 cases. At the training, I read a couple of cards I’ve received over the years, and how much they were alike was uncanny. It didn’t matter if they were a doctor, a doctor-to-be, or a layperson; anyone I help at a deep level establishes a sacred relationship, not a socially endorsed superficial, 154-character, polite relationship. The cards have different words, perhaps, but they say the same thing. They acknowledge the miracle, are grateful, and will carry this new gift or compass wherever their life takes them. There is a depth that is missing in the majority of doctor-patient relationships. Relationships-retention-referral-results are the blueprint for purpose, meaning, and success anywhere, anytime in history.
