Fun Day Update

Arrive in Williston, ND in the evening on Wednesday, August 3rd and return early Sunday morning, August 7th. Just an FYI, most people will be staying in Williston on Saturday night so they can fly out early on Sunday from Williston. We have the most variety for pods ever assembled for Fun Day. It’s the 10th year anniversary of Love Has No Color, so we’re going ALL OUT. Anything you want to show the kids with your pod, make it happen! The prison gig is on like Donkey Kong for Saturday at 4:30 pm. We’ll be doing community service on Friday after Fun Day and all day Saturday after the concert. We have lots of work to do so we want everyone involved!
There is a persistent rumor that a fun bus will be headed down from Canada with anywhere between 15-50 people in it. You might want to wear earplugs on August 3rd, because their uproarious laughter might break the sound barrier.

LHNC Fundraising

Cruising past $15,000! We are behind our projection, as many offices are just getting going within the last few weeks. All the wonderful donations from members and families are greatly appreciated, but don’t forget to get your practice members involved as well! The biggest fundraisers are reporting record numbers of new patients.

Know that you’re making a difference!

Love Has No Color gets its fair share of calls, letters, and emails from people who have been touched with our efforts. One such communiqué comes from a teacher on the Reservation. One of her students couldn’t be reached by anyone and was losing altitude; a fate all too common on the reservation. With behavior issues, complete lack of respect and defiance for teachers and classmates, this young kid was headed down the wrong road. He had no hobbies, few friends, no passion and no purpose in life. His home life was in shambles as well: no father, very little money, and he was hanging out with a rough crowd.

He goes to one of the smaller schools and was recently drawn into one of the tiny classrooms by a musical racket being made by some kids attempting to play some of the instruments that LHNC donated last year. He walked in and was drawn to one of the guitars. It was the iconic Telecaster Fender electric guitar that just seemed to captivate him. Even though he’d never played a note in his life, he asked if he could hold it. He waited patiently for other kids to take their turn and then held it and promptly turned himself into a rock star performing for a sold out stadium. His scowl was temporarily replaced by a smile.

He asked the teacher if he could take the guitar home with him. She said no, but when she saw how much he wanted it, she made a bargain with him: get your grades and attendance up, lose the attitude and I’ll teach you how to play that guitar. If not, no deal. The kid didn’t like the proverbial strings that were attached, but he had to learn to play that guitar. It started out slowly and he got frustrated very easily, but he’s been keeping up his end of the bargain. Recently, he asked again if he could take the guitar home. He had been keeping his end of the bargain for months, but she couldn’t help but wonder if he was planning on pawning it as soon as he left the school. So she made another bargain, this time with herself; if he did sell it, she’d replace it herself, but she needed to show this kid some trust. Monday morning, he waltzed into the classroom and handed the Telecaster to her with a big grin on his face. The teacher couldn’t help but grin herself as she took the guitar back. This kid is going to be alright, she thought.

Miracle Book cut off this Friday

Just a few more chapters needed for the book. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to be involved, this is going to be an awesome tool for you and your office. All of your current practice members as well as future new patients will view you as an expert, in a category of one before they even get to your office.

Schedule Filling Up Quickly!

Dr. Kevin’s Tuesday schedule is filled with eager DCs and DC2B ready to learn from the big man himself! This means, it is now almost impossible to be rescheduling your coaching calls. If you cannot make your time, please plan accordingly and call HQ beforehand. Also, if you’re planning on having a H2H, we suggest to get your name on our schedule sooner rather than later because of Dr. Kevin’s growing touring dates.

Speaking of Dr. Kevin…

No calls the week of July 4th-8th as Dr. Kevin will be on holiday in Michigan. Normal coaching calls will start back up on Monday, July 11th!
