35 Christmas on The Reservation elves headed to Fort Peck

On Wednesday, Dec 14, LHNC elves will descend on Fort Peck to distribute thousands of toys, gifts, high quality, non-perishable food, and books. If you are one of the elves making the trip please make sure to print out the contact information sheet that we will email to you tomorrow. In everyone’s group there is usually a cell phone that has a more powerful carrier that gets good reception on the reservation.  We will begin Thursday AM and will be going at it into the evening hours; same goes for Friday. With such a large group, breakfast and meals can get bogged down.  The restaurants cannot service our entire group at once.  Please plan accordingly. Sometimes a little fast food goes a long way in getting us there on time!  If your group is late getting to the reservation, don’t worry, catch up at the next stop.  There’s plenty to do!  Kenny Smoker is looking forward to seeing everybody.  And the kids are counting down the days!

MM/TNR Seminar in Atlanta January 20 & 21

With Christmas coming quickly at us (especially those with lots of kids!) it’s easy to go into survival mode just to get through the holidays.  Be sure to make arrangements to be at the MM and TNR seminar; don’t wait until the last minute.  Make sure to put it on your calendar today!  With all the new concepts, updates and upgrades in TNR procedures (accumulated layers of injury, spinal onion diagram, baseline assessments, language of the Millennial and Gen X) you will be Jonsing to implement these in your practice!  This is a very exciting time in TNR. If you were at the last TNR seminar and MM and have had a high level H2H, you need to reinforce these concepts.  If you didn’t get these concepts yet, you need them in your practice.  They are game changers. I have had members ask about the upcoming MM. Remember, there are only a limited number of tickets available? Call TNR headquarters ASAP if you wish to purchase a ticket. The consensus from the  last MM  was that it was mind blowing.  Never before have we had so many practical ways of communicating our vision with Millennials and Gen X’s!

Practice Tip of The Week

Get out of your comfort zones! There is a natural tendency to not want to venture out of your office and into the community. If you want to grow, you are going to have to bring your vision of health to people offline and online. You must get creative. Speak with other members and think big. Don’t compromise your vision of health to satisfy other people’s opinions or expectations. They come from a disease orientation.  Social obedience and pussification is at an all time high.  Remember, for any event that changed history, only a tiny percentage of people participated until it was safe to do so.  Think Revolutionary War, MLK protest marches, bus boycotts, the square root of 1%, Ghandi, etc.  Isn’t it funny that everyone enjoys the benefits of freedom, but only a small percentage helped secure freedom.  Don’t add your name to the growing list of DCs who won’t see kids, DCMEs, and wellness. Be in fair exchange and  humanitarian.  You must be strong enough and have a strong presence in your community so you’re not labeled as ‘just another DC’.

  • Be bold and don’t accept public opinion of what a DC should be. Don’t argue with people who don’t hold your beliefs.
  • Be willing to do things other DCs simply won’t do
  • Don’t make excuses or stories for not achieving results. Produce results, it’s the TNR way.
  • Stop searching for simple solutions to complex problems
  • Train, train, train. Homework is constant and continual.  When you make a plan or strategy, follow it thru before creating the next new thing or idea.  Implementation makes an okay idea great.  Even great ideas not implemented are useless.
  • Accept responsibility for all of your actions, this goes a long way.

No matter what your problems may be… it’s going to be okay!

Life can throw some real curve balls at DCs. When you fly in formation, you are a part of something bigger than individual success, almost like you are with the force.  There is a new sense of optimism of hope that things will turn out okay, even if it doesn’t appear that way today.  As I like to say, by being a member of TNR, the solution to your problems is happening or in motion.  No matter how bad the problem or how dire the circumstance, sometimes you realize it and other times it works invisibly, silently, mysteriously. I had a DC just recently repair a relationship that was never going to change in her mind. I had another DC mend the fences with a parent who they had been in conflict with for decades. I also had a DC question herself about getting a start up loan on her own (See story below).  Pre-TNR, you want the world to conform to your standards and wishes.  As a member of TNR, you realize “be the change you wish to see in the world” (JFK).  The problem you face today will not be the beginning nor end of your problems.  Understanding about increasing your resonation and letting go of your Below the Line stories and behavior is enough to deal with any problem or loss.

Last week I experienced my first heavy rainstorm living on the coast. This type of storm makes mother nature look like the big bad wolf and making me the three little pigs. It rained for days without let up. One evening walking through the lobby, I asked the salty, leather-skinned maintenance man if I should be concerned. His response, “No, hunker down and I’ll holler only if you need to evacuate”. Later as I glanced out the window I saw pool furniture floating by on a newly formed lake between the parking lot and building. I fell asleep to the rain beating down. I awoke startled to hear complete silence. The storm blew itself out, the sun blazed away, and the sky sparkled a brilliant blue. On my way out the same maintenance man stopped replacing the stray pool chairs to wave and yell, “See I told ya! You’d be alright”. This exchange reminded me of the wisdom conveyed by my mentor as I weathered a personal storm of banks, loans, and money fear. I am fortunate because this guide, Dr. Kevin, is no stranger to adversity as he has lead many boats through the dark night of the storm to the light of dawn. Dr. Kevin inspired me to think outside of the box and voilà I have the loan. Never have I fit into the small, socially acceptable box. Why would I start now? The party happens on the other side of boring. I’m hopping the fence, want to join?
