TNR Happenings: January 17, 2017

Your Weekly TNR Pulse
MM/Seminar Weekend!
Oh my! Here we go again on our journey into the unknown. Why is it the unknown? Too many DCs outside of our group insist that they can merely do the minimum and coast as a Chiropractor. Isolation is the prevailing strategy: walling themselves off and doing their own thing. Same level of thinking goes into their parenting and marriage strategies when things aren’t going right. Ladies right now are nodding their heads! Females are usually more relational or joining minded than males. When you enter the unknown, you are going to come up against your comfort zone. Many professionals, including the ranks of CPAs, lawyers, and MDs, insist on just going to the office and expecting to get paid more just for showing up – kind of like playing more golf and expecting to get better. With that strategy, older golfers would be boss. Along comes a group of DCs who are humanitarian to the core and insist that joining a community of like-minded DCs allows their fears and doubts to be reduced and their true inner talents bloom. They insist that high level (non license renewal) training is required to be the best they can be. Instead of the usual low market value that society confers on the average DC, the fair exchange earned is 3,5,10x. They also get superior clinical results and have a whole lotta fun being a once in a lifetime DC.
Super Academy February 25th & 26th
It’s baaaack! It’s been re-tooled with a decided emphasis on more demonstrating, experiential feedback, and less memorization of the procedures (newer members probably don’t know them yet.) And you are going to get some Miyagi like twists thrown in for good measure. All procedures will be covered over the 2 days. Because of the time intensiveness of the event, there will only be a limited number of tickets sold and it will be the only offering of SA for 2017. Did you know that 99% of DCs will never work on what to communicate to each and every practice member they will ever see. No wonder new patient, retention and referral scarcity exists. They base everything on the outdated model of musculoskeletal pain relief. It’s pretty hard to attract wellness people and kids by asking how someone feels! With a national PVA of less than 8, this event should be mandatory for all DCs. Please note, we have been asked by former members to attend and at this time, high level events will be restricted to current members of TNR.
We Are Not The Only Ones Losing Our Culture and Language!
Here is an article about the parallels of losing culture and language along with the horrific effects of losing communication and language skills. So many times Native American elders have commented on the amazing similarities they have with our struggle to stay separate and distinct rather than being absorbed in mainstream medicine as yet another pain relief modality. Devoid of language, culture and tribal ways of communicating and expressing their truths, Native Americans have languished in third world conditions for centuries. Losing your identity feels like you’re a stranger in a strange land, even though you are America’s first people. U2 wrote a song about it, Native Son. Osteopaths suffered a similar fate by trading their philosophy and teachings for social acceptance. “Cultural death matters because if the culture dies, we will have lost the chance not only to live on our own terms…but also to live in our own terms.” Just one of the goose-bump inducing quotes from David Treuer in the attached article!
Practical Tip of The Week
Have a friend go on your website and tell you (honestly) what they can put together about your office. Being a DC takes much time clinically, but you must put time on your online communication to prospective practice members. Blog if you will keep it up or have a video series that absolutely identifies you as a once in a lifetime DC. Having patient testimonials (video and written) is a great way of letting other people sing your praises. If your online and offline communications and patient education look like the guy down the street, time to change that and upgrade to a message and an identity you can be proud of. You will see an immediate boost in new patient appointments…it’s worth the effort.
Miyagi Video Conferences a Hit!
More and more members are inventing reasons to get more clarity, more help and guidance especially in times when they feel overwhelmed. As so many DCs reading this know, there is no substitute for a H2H, Big Vision H2H or a Beyond Branding H2H. Rather, these are significant issues that need immediate help that go waaay beyond a 15 minute call. Two examples from just this last week: you get a once in a lifetime speaking engagement and you need to really strategize not only what to say but how to capture emails, incentives, signing up new patients, back end new patients from those who don’t sign up at the event, etc. I also had another member who wanted specifics on a DCME. 30-minutes/$600 video conference with written material – truly a terrific deal!
