Grief Retreat Is On May 17th & 18th

There has been a lot of activity with purchasing tickets for the Grief Retreat; thank you. Some of you may not know that much about Kenny Smoker. Since Love Has No Color began, Kenny has been the driving force on the Reservation. It couldn’t be done without his ideas, implementations, behind the scenes preparation work, smoothing things over, welcoming us as family, etc. His brainchild is the Thundering Buffalo Health and Wellness Center, the first in North America. It was 16 years in the making. He single-handedly faced all the pessimism and doubt, saying we don’t deserve a facility like this, etc. Don’t let his humble demeanor fool you; to learn from him is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Don’t let this pass you by.

 

A few logistic comments: there will be no accommodations at the Ranch for this training weekend. There will be so many moving parts, and you will need decompression before, during, and after the event. Companion tickets are designed to introduce people in dire straits to someone who can help them. They usually won’t accept your help since a friendship is in the way. For others, it's siblings, colleagues, or other adventurous people who want to venture outside the box! This is a capped event, and tickets will sell out. Don’t be shut out; call Dr. Julie today!

Boot Camp/Fun Days Will Be From August 8th to the 10th

Put these dates on your calendar now. This year promises to be the best with all kinds of twists and turns, food delivery door-to-door, the last concert?, the dunk tank, face painting, athletic competitions, tribal customs and ways, etc. It’s a family event as members have taken kids under 1 to elderly parents to Boot Camp/Fun Days. Allow your family to experience humanitarianism at its finest. How about inviting VIP practice members or DCMEs? These events put you on the map as something much more than an office for healing minor symptoms.

Don’t act like your practice members. What? We get so frustrated when people in our office play Russian Roulette with their health and make myopic (short-sighted) decisions about their health. People basing decisions on insurance coverage, social media chat rooms, what society says, etc., are living squarely in the world of appearance.  Stepping over dollars to save pennies is the way of the upside-down and backward world of the ordinary, where mediocrity reigns supreme: I’ll have to ask my spouse, school principal, insurance company, or family doctor for permission. TNR is all about unilateral, executive decisions to continue growth regardless of the external circumstances you find yourself in.

 

You see this with all of our training sessions. Well-established, seasoned, and successful members are the first to sign up for all events. It’s a learned behavior. They want to squeeze all the success they can from TNR. The best time to book your next vacation is right after you finish the last one. Most have pre-paid at the previous training for their next ticket. It’s a reflex of the successful. They don’t think about it; they do it. They sure didn’t come to TNR with this behavior, as it is contrarian and flies in the face of conventional cultural beliefs about being cautious, safe, and comfortable. You will hear flack from all of your inner circle people, up to and including spouses, until they see the results of your transformation. The ability to bet on the right horse (you) is an acquired taste. Remember: TNR has no shallow end - you need to jump right in!

 

As most of you know, my wife grew up on a farm. There is a reward cascade system mentality on a farm that is backed by nature. How can a farmer sit there watching TV or playing on a computer when the preparation work hasn’t been done? Expecting success without the prep work is another version of entitlement. The soil needs tending, plants need watering, weeds need to be controlled, fertilizer is needed, etc. Without the prep work, how can one expect a return on one’s investment? You don’t get better by being a doctor. You must allow insight (other than ordinary people) and give up your ideas of figuring it out independently. It’s incredible to think a doctor’s degree will enable you to succeed. So many DCs put the most effort into getting the degree; in TNR, DCs realize that real work begins when you graduate from college. The degree gives you the foundation of clinical skills, and that’s it. Relationships, retention, referral, and results (the 4 R’s) are beyond the scope of academics and always will be. Members come to trainings seeking to hunt for more prosperous, efficient, humanitarian ways of doing what they were trained to do.

 

Bold, adventurous behavior has always been TNR's rule rather than the exception. Pressing family priorities like sports, social events, taxes, and overhead always exist. It would be best if you overrode the social conditioning of your previous life of playing it safe, conservative, and small. You only get one life. The college-educated person who values education over success is willing to continue to behave in a rigid, crablike state and resist success. Think of your professors and how intellectually and narcissistically arrogant they were. They were so sure that you wouldn’t make it; after all, they didn’t, and they thought they were superior to you. They made your life miserable to match theirs. They didn’t recognize opportunities for what they were: pathways to accelerated success. The poor know the price of everything well enough but usually don’t know the value/worth of anything.

Question 1: My DCME/Level 2 purposely gets on my nerves. He seems to think it’s part of the job description to antagonize me. What’s going on? 

 

Answer: Believe it or not, there are many invisible intrapersonal dynamics going on. Be like vapor and don’t react unless it’s necessary to establish boundaries. 

 

Question 2: My DCME is late on payment. I’ve spoken to him about payment, and he continues not to pay. Should I lower the boom? 

 

Answer: Payment is either pre-pay or must be current. If this is happening, you are losing altitude. You are in a no-win situation where you can only lose. Finances are as much a part of miracles as care, execution, conditions being right, clinical ability, etc.
