I am fond of saying that each doctor has a batting average that consumers are never privy to. Professional athletes are paid vast sums of money to be put under the microscope of public opinion. Their won-lost record, earned run average, strikeouts, batting average, and runs batted in are out in the open for all to see. As doctors/healers, it’s anything but. Are you merely a technician, a capable doctor/healer, or a once-in-a-lifetime doctor? It comes down to your drive, connectedness to people, and responsibility to others. 

There is no such thing as right or wrong; it’s a matter of fit: associate, working at the Joint, owning your successful practice, and everything in between. In your mind’s eye, you can see a distinct difference between each arena in which you belong. Each requires its own predictable amount of ability, trust, and saying yes or no to life. When I’m on a connecting flight layover, I always make it a point to look at the airport DC huddled over a computer. Thousands of people walk by him daily, yet his compact office is deserted. What could your retention be at the airport? Imagine a stream of thousands passing you daily, up close and personal, rejecting you and your abilities, etc. Fit is everything!

We have forgotten our connection with the natural world in the dust-filled valleys and lowlands of our daily existence.  So we need the presence of mountains, stars, the moon, and the sun- mighty milestones and signposts to awaken us from the slumber of self-complacency. Not many hear the call or feel the urge under their thick blankets of petty self-interest to get money and pleasure-seeking in the world of the ordinary. But the few who do form a perennial stream of pilgrims on the path of truth and excellence, keeping alive the arcane knowledge of these terrestrial (belonging to the earth) sources of divine inspiration through the ages.

These levels are EVERYWHERE and in everything from relationships, marriage, business, parenting, etc! Today, the emphasis is placed on sales and not service. Everyone has a commentator to tell you their views, worldview, etc.: the government, insurance companies, those who profit and promote disease and fear, etc. Everything is biased, colored for you, and shoved down your throat. You can resist or agree to, but to blend, you will find yourself in rare company. Blending involves seeing things as they are, with no automatic response to add your opinions, beliefs, fix, or judge. It’s anything but passive. Your audience is limited to people who will avail themselves of your care. Your medical doctor tells you you’re done for, and the most you can do is get a second opinion that will validate no solutions. Maybe you will go on a safari of medical tourism and actively seek the needle in the haystack. You are limited by the level or dimension you find yourself in. A fish can’t see the water it is immersed in. The same goes for an associate, someone working at the Joint, a vacation coverage DC, a maternity coverage DC, or a sole practitioner. There is room for everyone, but with each, there are dangers, limitations, and opportunities.

TNR has a place for everyone, but the emphasis is on ‘all-in’ people. Imagine that! All trainings, personalized Head-to-Heads, and Miracle Trainings are voluntary, as they should be. Sticking your toes in the water won’t give you the exhilaration and the sense of adventure that diving headfirst will. The world of ordinary attempts to pull you out of this orientation by grinding you down with input from spouses and well-meaning friends and family, offering resistance at every turn to becoming extraordinary, etc. According to your level of participation in my teachings, the following words will fly over your head or reduce you to tears: My statement of truth with people is that it has been my honor and privilege to guide and restore someone to their natural state of worth, dignity, and honor. It is an act of love that reorients them to their original state of existence.

Miracle Training

This year’s Boot Camp/Fun Days put us in intimate contact with more at-risk and homeless people than usual. Most of us did not experience interacting and sharing food with them. Most of us feel such lines of separation between them and us. Our levels of comfort, security, education, and money appear to insulate us and create boundaries. Believe it or not, these distinctions and boundaries are not as solid or natural as you think.

There was a person among us who came home to a relative who took their own life. This person was aware of the instability, fragility, and impairment (emotionally and mentally) of this individual, but they were not interested in any help. Mind your own business, it isn’t so bad, they don’t need the help, and they can’t afford it is nothing new here. Life just went on until it didn’t. Five kids are involved, although some of them are grown. “You could have helped him” is something I hear continuously. We must wake up from our slumber and open our mouths. There are solutions if the person is willing and able.  Keeping our mouths silent is not an option.  

One common denominator of the people I have had the privilege and honor of guiding is that they love their new lives and have a second chance at life. Life is not perfect (nor should it be), but there is an aliveness, a connection to all people, and a deeper look into what creates purpose and meaning in their lives. Some of the most unlikely people to receive help walk through my doors. They come in all sizes (including one giant), illness states, colors, religious or non-religious affiliations, economic stature, etc. We are all one people. Penetrate the stigma of receiving help by relating to people who have slipped through the cracks. Please don’t wait until it’s too late. Be persistent; don’t let your inhibitions get in the way of saving a life.
