The Pulse of TNR!
Christmas week edition
Oh what fun it is to ride…

Everything worked out perfectly on the Reservation. The kids had so much fun interacting with the LHNC elves. There was a huge imbalance of Canadian versus U.S. elves as the majority of LHNC elves were Canadians. The basketball games (yes, Dr. Lisa is very competitive!), the jail and juvenile detention center, and the adjustments all added to the festivities. Dr. Megan sure is a super organizer! Here are just a few of the amazing thank you cards we received:

Thank you to all offices for your generous donations. This year we reached three head start programs (the most ever that we have visited) that are for children with fetal alcohol, difficult delivery babies, and meth babies, all of whom are way behind in health. Spending time with those kids was amazing! This was the best COTR ever!
Super Academy is one month away!
All members will be receiving information in the mail outlining all the reasons why every member needs to be at SA. The rest of the profession kneels at the altar of the adjustment, insurance coverage, and symptom relief only and steadfastly refuses to acknowledge relationships, communication skills, patient education, and boundaries. SA has something for everyone at all levels of practice. Think you don’t need SA at 1,000 PVs per week, guess again: they are historically the first to purchase a ticket. We have been asked by a couple of offices about high level office staff. In order to justify the expense of having a staff member there, they must be mature enough to survive an intense two-day experience. Please call TNR and speak with Dr. Julie or Samantha directly to make the arrangements. Just starting out or currently have a modest practice: SA will show you a whole different dimension of how to the practice to be the best DC you can be. You will never meet a DC outside of TNR that practices the way you will be taught. Please remember, SA is always being updated with new materials and concepts, especially for Millennial PMs.
Practice tip of the week
Switch from the outdated model of practice to the updated model of practice taught in TNR (see SA article above). Even TNR members carry the invisible scars of having people tell them what to do and how to practice. When it comes to health, most people have been programmed with the disease model and they are interested in symptoms. You can’t get rigid and fundamental on people. Rather, gently, but firmly, use your concentric circles diagram and your Baseline Assessment to guide you in the process. It’s okay to acknowledge their symptoms, just continue to lead them on the path to health. People are stunned to learn that behavioral problems, personality and learning disorders, immunity issues, etc. all stem from a loss of health. Don’t let symptoms or PMs run your office. You know better; have the courage and compassion for people to show it.

Speaking to a teacher on the reservation
Minding your own business on the reservation is hard to do because everyone knows what group you represent. A teacher who has lots of years under her belt asked to have a word with me. She wanted to tell me of the effect Christmas on the Reservation has had on her 5th-grade kids. "It's the event they look forward to all year round. A simple gesture of kindness for some of these kids makes all the difference in the world. People off the reservation cannot fathom the conditions some of these kids are forced to endure. Some actually live without parental supervision, regular meals, are always in danger, etc. Some of the kids are quite numb from their circumstances and I love seeing their faces light up and act like little kids again when you guys bring the gifts. Some people might not think what you do makes a difference, but I know it does. It touches each kid in a deep and profound way."
You know him or her!
It’s a colleague, an acquaintance, a classmate, a love, etc. They are a DC you know. Give them a call or put in a shout out to your friends on social media. So many DCs are ashamed, humiliated, or whatever to ask for help. Tell them of your story in TNR. You don’t need to know their office stats, just say, "if you’re looking to go from where you are to where you want to be, call TNR!"
