TNR Happs 2.2.26

Tao of TNR Is On March 21st

Behind any smooth-running, sustainable enterprise, there is an invisible force, a guiding hand that works behind the scenes. I visit two franchised donut shops that have the same name. One has had the same employees for years, has a cheerful atmosphere, and is quick and accurate. At the other, employees change every few weeks; the atmosphere is bland, you're kept waiting, and orders are usually inaccurate. The ancients have described this phenomenon in great detail for thousands of years. Do you still think your office doesn’t have an atmosphere that people notice? Along comes relatively modern life, which has been around for merely a few hundred years, and it has the arrogance to comment on something true that can’t be measured, described, classified, or diagnosed. Just because you can’t put God in a test tube, don’t make the mistake of thinking God is dead or has gone somewhere. In Western culture, something either works or it doesn’t, according to rules that can be explained. Academics, technique, dogma, and research all block this presence from radiating behind whatever endeavor you are engaged in. Substitutes, imitations, advertising and marketing schemes, and AI abound. When people enter your office, do they experience a different kind of doctor with unlimited certainty, confidence, and a real, sacred relationship with you to get the job done? A HUGE mistake is to think that there are just lucky doctors who have this hidden ingredient. It is accessible as oxygen. And yet our culture has managed to convince the asthmatic that they are lacking something. Oxygen is limited; healing is limited. Real doctors (MDs), science, laws, and boards are in charge of healing. This is rubbish! They act as if they own healing, and without them, there is no healing. Imagine an MD commenting on something that has been around for thousands of years (e.g., acupuncture). Healing is about results, not agenda, political power, or shutting people out via insurance or economic platforms. Doesn’t it sound ridiculous even saying it? The Tao is as reliable as electricity and gravity. It’s a pity that people with lower resonant frequencies love to produce works of fiction when it comes to healing with alternative medicine. How can anything be alternative to health? New Age or being Marc Anthony or Cleopatra in another life is certainly entertaining, as far as it goes, but it will not heal. If it doesn’t heal, you won’t find it in TNR. To become masterful in any endeavor, it will not be popular, convenient, or easy, and don’t expect the social media generation to be sitting beside you in Norwood any time soon. Call TNR headquarters and reserve your spot today.

Love Has No Color

Decades ago, my Mentor, Dr. Joe Flesia, would give DCs a glimpse of non-linear reality that interested only a few. I was one of them. A band of Wind River Shoshoni Indians in WY fascinated me to no end. I was not consciously aware of them, but the more I learned about them in books, stories, and metaphors, the more I realized there was an ancient familiarity to their philosophy and Chiropractic, and their connection to people and the earth. It clicked, and at the time, it nudged me toward the spiritual, not the religious. The parallels between them and us as Healers are striking. We are Healers vs. the organized, for-profit, and weaponized agendas of modern medicine. It wasn’t so much that I saw myself among them, but I saw them in a different light. They were guiding lights in our warring society. They were the original keepers of the earth. Our country rewarded these ancient carriers of spirit with genocide. Before TNR, I had never experienced life on a reservation or the rich depth of their culture, guidance, and insights. For most people, it’s unwelcome, quaint, and outdated. To the few, it’s the breath of life itself, and an alternative view to the insane, ordinary world.

We can’t change the past, but we can lend a hand to people who were more than well-intentioned to Europeans aimed at destroying them and taking their land and resources. Think of this: if a brother or sister with kids were killed in an accident, immediately, there is an urge from deep inside to honor and care for the kids by taking them in, giving them a home, and caring for them as if they were yours. Native Americans have embodied the spirit and culture of living with nature and people for thousands of years. Arrogance, power, and profit cloud the judgment of world leaders, keeping them from recognizing this opportunity. In TNR, it offers doctors and healers an alternative to a worldview that puts profit over people. We are all one people. Humanity is deep within all of us, but remains dormant until it is discovered and used. Love Has No Color is just the container we all need.

From the Mind of Miyagi

I have worked with many different individuals over the decades, and a common thread among them is a loss of identity. An example is investing 9 years of your life to become a doctor and realizing it didn’t measure up to your image of it. Other examples include marriage, parenting, and the responsibilities of being an adult. You certainly didn’t invest that amount of time, money, and resources to end up disenchanted. It boils down to a loss of identity. Instead of connecting with the sick and suffering and helping people, many substitute treating practice members as targets or assets to be procured. Keep the sacred in helping others. Don’t substitute business for the sacred. Think of a coin with healing on one side and economics on the other side. It’s not either or, it’s both at the same time. My point is that there is an overemphasis on profit over helping people, and on self-centeredness rather than seeing others’ needs as your own. Lean into the sacred and watch the economics grow.

If you are not happy with your investment of 9 years of college, most of your life will be colored beige, and remember, nobody looks good in beige. Bleakness and a mild despair will grip your life, and entertainment and distractions will be welcomed front and center into your life. You will feel as if everyone wants something from you, and your needs will continue to go unmet. You will wonder, “What’s that thing I can’t remember, or how did I get so far off center?” Instead of knowing who you are and making it pivotal in all areas of your life, you will begin to take shortcuts; your practice members become objects of profit, and your connection to and duty to them wane. Think of doctors or healers in their fifties with looks of despair deeply etched upon their faces, still talking about the good old days and philosophy, while their words have nothing behind them. It is bluster, hype, and rhetoric that is not based in reality. Their offices look like ghost towns with tumbleweeds blowing in the wind.

Serve people like they are family. Yes, you have to put up with their social conditioning, false beliefs, arrogance, etc. Do it anyway. It’s worth it to them, and it’s worth it to you.

Miracle Training

Miracle Training With Dr. Kevin

One of the major tasks in delivering high-impact care is separating the beliefs of the believer. This is not an easy task. When I made my change from a white coat and stethoscope (a real doctor, of course) to helping all people with a decided emphasis on the next generation, it brought up resistance from, guess who, family and friends. My mother was the first wave of learning disability teachers in MA in 1977, and funding was overflowing. When I mentioned to her the link between learning disabilities and Chiropractic, it collided with her social conditioning of thinking that learning disability teachers must do the teaching. This was the same jealous guarding of profit, agenda, and ineffectiveness that we see in business, the V.A., government, medicine, covid, etc.

I remember handing her a research article on the subject, and she took it, set it down on the table, and never read it. I was her son, and yet it didn’t matter to her. She was programmed to an agenda, and she was not going to be pulled off track, even by her son! I felt betrayed and hurt, but behind the darkness was the gold. People’s belief in the negative and what can’t be done actually stops forward progress in its tracks. This is like a painter restricting themselves only to primary colors, when there is an infinite palette of hues, shades, and luminosities.

MT and DCME care is so much more than academics; it’s about establishing communication between two very different individuals for a common goal: re-establishing health. That person is not going to be a clone of you, and you aren’t becoming them any time soon. Your small-mindedness (ego) tells you that you must dominate, control, and grind the person into subservience. It’s completely unnecessary if you know what you are doing. Opening their minds and hearts is not changing them or using force. You are allowing instead of using force. Serve them in the highest fashion, even if they don’t recognize this at the time. Gratefulness is not the critical factor; returning that person to health is.

Question 1: What do you do with a person who doesn’t want help? It’s almost like my patient enjoys explaining her misery to me. How can this be?

Answer: It’s called the Lifestyle of Sickness. Move to the next person willing to put in some effort.

Question 2: My DCME takes my hand and points to where he wants me to adjust. I just sit there with a prozac grin on my face, all peace and love, and yet on the inside, I am boiling. Help!

Answer: You need to set boundaries regardless of how long you have practiced.
