GCC Nuts and Bolts seminar

I was in Marietta on Saturday and I put on a Nuts and Bolts seminar for DCs and upper level students. I got to meet some new DCs and DC2Bs. Plus, some of our student TNR members were present. What a difference it makes when you combine great communication skills, clinical skills and a humanitarian heart. All too many DCs and DC2Bs are totally unaware of the critical role communication and patient education skills play in having an ultra-successful practice. Many of our brother and sister DCs place way too much focus on the symptomatic picture of the practice member.

SA this weekend!

To those members who are still on the fence about joining us: jump off of the fence and make sure that you’re there! If you are an established member and have been to previous SAs, you’re in for a surprise. There will be more emphasis on the practical and less on rote memorization. Two brand new procedures will be explained in detail: concentric circles and Baseline Assessments. We will also have ‘live’ feedback from a ‘top secret’ Millennial. Super Academy is open to active coaching members only. This is the only SA scheduled for 2017. Be spontaneous and call today!

Boot Camp 2017 Dates

The 2017 Boot Camp will be held from Wednesday, August 9th through Saturday, August 12th. We’ll have more details soon.

Practice tip of the week

If you’re looking for a low cost way of introducing tons of quality new patients into your office, consider having a Doggie Appreciation Day. The concept is to have a ‘doggie day’ in your parking lot or at a nearby park and invite all the community and their dogs to it. You could have a Cesar Millan type person working with the dogs on obedience (maybe you could invite my kids with their dogs!), you could have a dog show and give out ribbons to all dogs for cutest, biggest, smartest, most well behaved, etc. Then you can even have a dog walk after. Take lots of pictures and put it on social media. You will of course be capturing all of their emails. Contact all of the dog groomers in your area to donate gifts (dog toys, food, leashes, etc) for the raffle and ask them to spread the word on their social media. Hundreds to even thousands of eyeballs will see your message and have a link back to your website. Some of our advanced TNR members are having events like this throughout the year, almost monthly. Some are tying it in with fundraising for LHNC, etc. It doesn’t take much effort to really get a great turnout and have lots of people make their way to your office for care.

No TNR event until April

February and March are ideal months for having a H2H since there are no TNR events scheduled in March. Keep your training at thermal levels! There is never a bad reason to have a H2H. I had a recent H2H with a member who said ‘their head was up their butt’. Oh, well, it isn’t any more! If interested, please call Dr. Julie to schedule.

News from one of our Year-One DCs

This is what TNR DC, Dr. Nikki, wrote:

Putting things into perspective.

I graduated December 2016. I received my license January 26, 2017 and I finally received my malpractice and NPI number last week the 9th.

I am extremely fortunate to have found TNR my second quarter of school because if I didn’t have the training that I’ve had through the almost 4 years of school there is no way I would have been able to look a mother of a failure to thrive 2.5 month old and tell her that I am committed to her son’s care. I was able to connect to her even fresh out of school. The mother just looked at me and said ‘I’ll do whatever he needs’ and paid for fees up front in cash. I can’t even imagine where I would be without the love, constant support, and training that I have received.

Everything I have done up into this point has prepared me to have those kinds of connections with my patients. I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I am so excited for my lifetime career in chiropractic!
