Tao of TNR Is On September 19th
We have Boot Camp to get ready for in a little more than 2 weeks, but I will say this: training to do something your ego says you already know how to do is reserved for doctors/healers who are truly connected and committed to helping others. It says something about you that is worthy of respect, admiration, and the much higher compensation that goes with it. Seriously, why would you train if you can already fill out forms, adjust, treat, and give some type of Report of Findings as everyone else does? It’s the same in all endeavors. You are in the tiniest percent of people who are always moving toward excellence. Throughout your life, you have been inspired by these types of people. Are you one of them? They not only do what is expected, but they also do more without being asked. Have you or a loved one ever been treated by such a doctor/healer? Most of us have never had great role models of selfless healers who experience success as a result of being a once-in-a-lifetime doctor/healer. Stop wasting time accepting substitutes and imitations.
Boot Camp/Fun Days Are August 13th, 14th & 15th
Get your donations in soon! As many of you know, donations are received (tithing) all year long, but these are targeted donations. We need the last-minute infusion of donations as Dr. Julie is getting ready to make the food order. One of the most incredible things about recent years on the Reservation is the love/hate relationship of assembling all the food cartons in 90-degree heat. Our backs, our knees, and the sheer monotony of it all wear on us. We get more silent, we wear an upside-down smile, it looks and feels endless, and we drink lots of water and still are thirsty. And then the miracle happens: it’s done. Now the real fun begins as we see the heartfelt expressions of gratitude of families in need as they receive the food. Going door to door has become a fan favorite in recent years. This year’s pods promise to be unique and exciting, too. The only thing I ask is that it not be boring or complicated. Fun is not analytical.
From the Mind of Miyagi
Today’s topic will seem retro to some members, and others will hear it for the first time. There is something above and beyond the physical meeting of two people with a doctor-patient relationship. This mirrors the intimate encounter, much to the chagrin of many. The doctor who wants to be the ‘good guy’, have the patient’s approval, and wants to make the difficult easy loses the most important ingredient in the equation. It’s called polarity, respect, masculinity, sacredness, leadership, or unity, but not uniformity. You blend/join with each other without violating the separateness. Male and female are separate and distinct, without one being more powerful or dominant. Stop chasing validation in your practice members’ eyes. You signal your desperation when you are soft, and you will not receive respect from highly committed people. Conversely, low-commitment people will love you, and you will wonder why people don’t refer to you or pay full fees; you become a superficial, stand-for-nothing, social media type. Do you get intimidated by an angry person? Much like in intimate relationships, people will not respect the nice guy, the guy who accommodates (we used to call this ‘let’s make a deal’) because allowing the problem to lead the solution is never a good idea. Your office should reflect sacredness, community, and relationships, not a transaction like you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. It is a privilege and honor to be served by a practitioner with your ability and connectedness. If you are dancing with a partner who also thinks they are leading, you will enter into a competition, not a relationship. You are the doctor and leader; start acting like it, and don’t be desperate. Think of a large person telling a small person how it’s going to be.
If you were a trainer and you think you can exercise for your client, you are sadly mistaken. Somehow, somewhere, you must instill respect for what you do, and hopefully some of this wears off on the client. The secret is that the client or practice member may choose not to do it. And you can’t do anything about it. You are wasting your time attempting to be all things to all people. Social media attempts to violate this principle of being all things to all people; it still holds. This invisible dimension allows clinical results way past what others who continue to be script monkeys or analytical robots can’t touch. There was a white-coated DC who thought he was a medical doctor, and he would always say, “Kevin, how did you get that guy to pay you personally when I can’t even get him to come in with full insurance coverage?” It’s a timeless advantage that never goes out of style.
Today, leadership is almost extinct in offices, and there is a marked trend toward giving the practice member what they want. Think of intimate relationships here: fast, convenient symptom relief is the equivalent of fast, easy sex. Making a sacred rite of passage or a journey into the unknown into a cartoonish, hollowed-out travesty is not doing anyone any good. Lowering your fees or letting a person bully you into doing something that you know better to do is you caving when biological urgings get in the way of doing what is right. Doing what people expect you to do and doing what is right are two different things.
We see this first and foremost with practice members, but it doesn’t end there. Even with CA’s, friends, and intimate relationships, we think that avoiding, caving, or putting our heads in the sand is working towards a solution. You are merely creating long-term problems that will need to be dealt with. Resentment and regret start to build up invisibly in your life, on the way to crashing on the shoals of the unexpected, unasked-for consequences. The longer you wait, the larger the price you will pay, up to dissolution of relationships, practice mediocrity, and people treating you like an ass-clown.
Miracle Training
Mental and emotional impairment is at the heart of broken lives, families, and dreams. How many of those “what could they have been thinking of” moments have we seen, and yet we simply chalk it up to one of those things? Most people simply endure this and have absolutely no clue that, like any disease, it’s curable. There is so much superstition, societal memes, and rigid negative beliefs about it, so we ignore it and hope it will go away on its own. IT WON'T! Remember, it’s your responsibility to only offer the solution, not to defend it. Do not waste time attempting to cajole, persuade, prove, etc. To the person who is desperately looking to change their life, there is nothing to think about. Some reading this right now decided in mere hours to set the plan in motion to receive Miracle Training. The record is 90 minutes.
DCME Confidential
Question 1: What do you do with people who constantly complain? Nothing seems good enough. What the hell?
Answer: Don’t take it personally, as it is a way of life. They have the opportunity to change, although statistically they will not give up the comfortable and familiar, even though it merely adds more suffering and resistance to the mix.
Question 2: I have a patient who says I hurt her on certain adjustments. I am an extremely light adjuster, using mostly Activator. She is so convincing with the faces that she makes. Am I being manipulated?
Answer: Yes. Sickness and suffering is a way of life for many. You would think that she would want to be healthy, but the loss of social position or sympathy would be unbearable for her. We don’t call it DCME for nothing. Keep in your lane and don’t doubt yourself.
