The Grief Retreat Is On May 15th and 16th
This is our 2-day training, offered only once per year. It’s as deeply personal as it gets. You will be receiving a mailer in the next few days. Concepts will be presented, of course, but this is all about YOU! See yourself in a new light. Some have never experienced themselves without their mask on (adaptations and compensations made without asking for permission). Talk about feeling vulnerable! This year, I am placing a special emphasis on companion tickets. As you will read in the mailer, there is no better way for a loved one, colleague, or relative to taste test Miyagi. This is a capped event due to logistics, and we have 16 tickets remaining. Call today to purchase your ticket and join the breathtaking adventure known as the Grief Retreat.
Love Has No Color
I have a Zoom call with Kenny and Vernice today to discuss the location and dates for this year’s summer fun in Montana. This is a great way to recognize VIP practice members by inviting them to the Reservation. They will bring back memories and excitement from their experiences and share them with others in your office community year-round. Bringing spouses and kids has always been a favorite of TNR members, too. Many reading this have seen the trajectory of their kids’ lives change due to participation. One of our junior participants wrote a college paper on his experiences. My kids have been profoundly affected by their sojourns to the Reservation. In fact, Randi Jo decided to become a DC after a Miracle healing sweat ceremony on the Reservation. Her sister, brother-in-law, and brother followed after she broke the ice. They also tithe year-round to ease fundraising efforts. It is usually during the first or second week of August. We will keep you posted.
From the Mind of Miyagi
Why are some doctors blessed with the ability to procure quality new patients, and others have extreme difficulty doing the same thing? This is also true with dating. There is a factor called by many names: the factor of attraction, personal power, success, influence, etc. It is hard to describe in linear terms; however, you can surely feel it. In the reality series American Idol, the stage is full of technically proficient singers. Their voice is top shelf, but their personal essence is not. It’s not their looks, it’s their stage presence. Do they radiate or not? Being technically proficient in adjusting, reading X-rays, and assessing people is just not enough. In today’s computer-obsessed world, you have to exceed expectations or perish. Having this quality and characteristic separates the few from the many.
I am not averse to advertising of any kind, online or offline. If you had the ability to procure quality new patients at no cost, why wouldn’t you do it? It is common knowledge that people pay for sex. If you don’t have the ability to attract people, you will be forced to pay, ending up paying through the nose for something that is all around you. Before expensive social media advertising, there were the Yellow Pages. This was expensive fuel for low-quality new people. Social media advertising is the same, a substitute or imitation for not having this ingredient. Technical skills are only part of the equation. Having people skills and being able to listen when you enter a room are all breadcrumbs that you can notice or choose to ignore at your own peril.
Confidence and assurance, transmitted verbally and especially non-verbally, will be picked up instantly by people. Like Goldilocks’ porridge, it can be too hot (arrogance, selfish, greed, sales) or too cold (people pleaser, meek, non-decisive). Do you remember the sweet spot diagram? Too many people spend copious time at the keyboard, and this precious ingredient is not developed. If you are missing this critical ingredient, you can work for people or play on your electronic binkies (computers and devices) all day. When you read the Grief Retreat mailer, notice how often in the testimonials participants speak of safety, environment, seeing the real them, etc. When this ingredient is missing from any interaction, the answer will be no, confusion, I’ll come back later, etc. When a salesperson swoops in on you and asks if there is anything I can help you with, you predictably say, no, I’m just looking.
Many people are turned off by overt salespeople. In TNR, there is a humanitarian vibe that opens people's hearts and minds. If people are too far out of the sweet spot, do the best you can, but don’t go on the defensive, answering rhetorical questions. Create bonds of trust and safety in every interaction. If your best is not good enough, use your ability to attract to get another who has been looking for you as much as you have been looking for them.
Miracle Training
Have you ever wondered why people accept a black flag of death diagnosis so readily? Examples are: There is no hope, or it’s incurable. According to the leading consciousness expert of the last 100 years, Dr. David Hawkins, the human brain is wired to take people at their word: the brain cannot discern truth from falsehood. When most people hear the word no from an authority figure (doctor, newscaster, celebrity, athlete, teacher, parent, etc.), they accept the answer without question. We don’t. You’ve been conditioned to accept what can’t be done from birth. You might visit a doctor or two, but when they echo the prognosis, most accept the decree and agree to die. It’s a world of what can’t be done.
One of the first concepts or dialogues I enter into with MT clients is: why do you place so much faith in a doctor who tells you what can’t be done? Surely they are speaking only of themselves, their methods, and their abilities, not of what can be done. It’s not that solutions don’t exist; it’s the resistance you will face from social conventions that don’t supply solutions. This is a turf war, an agenda, and, of course, trillions of dollars are at stake.
What did you think when you first entered the arena of serving people and saw a difficult case who got better with you after seeing many doctors? Most of us puffed up our chests and inflated our egos. In reality, we were just doing what we knew could be done, and a less talented doctor simply gave up and told the person it couldn’t be done. A historical note: the 12-step program was started when an American traveled to see the esteemed CG Jung about his alcoholism. Instead of agreeing that there was no solution to his raging alcoholism, Jung flatly told him that medical science had no solutions, but he said that spiritual groups (he did not say religious) might have the answer to his dilemma. This patient started the 12-step program, which is based on spirituality.
Unfounded hope is a type of imprisonment. You stay stuck. Finding hope is the non-linear way to move forward and solve any and all problems.
DCME Confidential
Question 1: I feel a lot of guilt about what I charge for my difficult cases. Will this ever go away?
Answer: You have been programmed since birth to believe in only real areas of economics: athletes, celebrities, actors, war, Wall Street, drugs, and real estate. When it comes to health, the real money is in disease. Get rid of this guilt immediately. It will not go away until you have replaced it with a belief that is based on truth, not the culture you grew up in.
Question 2: I have a patient who has been dabbling with doing DCME for months. The day finally arrived, and they say they are ready. Are they telling the truth?
Answer: Time will expose all lies. Like the prodigal son, welcome them with open arms. Resist the tendency to be short or aggressive with them because of their non-committal. Chances are, they will not last. Treat them like they will.
