Can an individual doctor really make a difference?

Before arriving on planet TNR so many doctors wondered if they could they really make a difference in their communities and beyond.  Was their intent and abilities enough to ‘budge the needle’ and get results with invisible disease (not something you can feel or rub)?  Could they introduce wellness to a world hell bent on symptomatic relief only and relegating DCs to the back of the proverbial bus?  While much of the profession is complacent and allows society to tell it what to do there is a small group (square root of 1%) that are actively doing something about it…changing the paradigm to health.  Healthier people create a healthier planet.

We start to feel a strange false sense of victory giving less than 100%, as if we got away with something, and as if doing less than our best without getting caught is some kind of accomplishment.”

 Dr. Barbara De Angelis

MasterMind and TNR Quarterly Seminar on May 19th & 20th

These seminars will recharge and reenergize every one of our members and guests.  Our brand of connection to people and giving our best effort is congruent with training to be your best, not seeing how little you can get by with.  A high percentage of DCs don’t feel the need to improve themselves or their craft.  They don’t train yet they expect the results of people that do.  MM will feature some of the tools, concepts and strategies that our advanced members are using.  These are things that nobody else in the country is using!  Every MM features upgrades and cutting edge communication strategies that cut through resistance and 'yeah buts' of practice members. They are replaced with cooperation with both the PM and doctor working for a common goal: the best health expression for a lifetime.

At the TNR Quarterly Seminar, you will witness for the first time an over view of TNR's updated, modified and brand new clinical patient procedures and patient education for use both inside and outside of your office. To grow, you must choose to update because there is such an emphasis on the internet's social media.  Please understand that the vehicles change (marketing, social media, insurance coverage, etc) but the principles don’t.  Don’t be intimidated by these changes. At the seminar new vehicles will be presented that are made easy for you to implement.  Realize that many of our products, concepts and seminars are not available to the general population of DCs.  They are available only to members.  This flies in the face of business principles so prevalent in Chiropractic.  Putting people and principles before profit is not popular in the world of colonization.

MasterMind and the TNR Quarterly Seminar will be held at Life University. For hotel reservations, call the sales department at the Courtyard Atlanta Marietta/I-75 North and ask for Tina or Amy, 770-956-1188. Mention the Life University Rate and they will book your rooms for $104 per night plus tax.

Some observations I made while speaking in Virginia

“I had no idea there was a group of DCs that still believed that there was more to Chiropractic than neck and back pain.”  "Why don’t more people know about LHNC?"  Another DC lamented about having 2 advanced degrees (pediatrics and neurology) yet he was no closer to seeing the types of cases (or getting the types of results) that the academic DCs talked about: "I thought it was all about the academic end, you know, learn about the subject, study it and then practice it…boy was I mistaken." The common denominator with all of these comments was a loss of purpose and passion; that thing that they once had in spades was now evaporated. When did we collectively and individually separate and become isolated from Chiropractic? Abandon it, resent it, think that it (Chiropractic) is not giving back instead of upholding the principles of Chiropractic ourselves. Is it not grand enough, humanitarian enough, or profit enough saving lives or are there much more worthy things demanding of your attention?  It was not about a scarcity of information or technique. As our members are well aware of, some DCs are okay with being told NO or IT CAN”T BE DONE.  Then there are TNR DCs who say there’s got to be a better way and there is.

Practical tip of the week

Rethink Tuesdays and Thursdays.  One of the greatest traps we as DCs face is what to do on Tuesday and Thursdays.  Having a few people trickle in on those days serves nobody.  If you choose to grow, these two days actually drive the others.  Think of those days as DECOMPRESSION, RE-ENERGIZE, and GROWTH.  If you have a HAS on Tuesday and you want to work a few hours up to the big show, so be it.

Have a few hours that you are unreachable and get lost on these days.  More than just exercise, you need to rest, read high resonating material, and do something that recharges your spirit.  Doing errands in no shape, way, or form does this.  On Thursday, you may have a few hours in the morning to do GROWTH related activities from social media, video, emails, speaking engagements, etc.  There is a big difference between GROWTH and ADMINISTRATION.  Administration will not create growth, period.  Necessary, yes, but it won’t create the conditions necessary for growth.  It's great for well-run, EHR compliant, socially accepted, small practices. There were morning and afternoon paper routes when I was a kid.  Because I played sports, I couldn’t stand the thought of being interrupted every day in the afternoon to do the route so I had a morning route. I’m a morning guy and like to get things done so I have the rest of the day to myself.  Some DCs will devote a few hours in the morning or the afternoon towards practice growth and the rest of the time is to re-energize.  Don’t let the guilt of not doing something every minute of the day goad you into being inefficient.  The largest practices abide by this success guideline and so should you.
