DCME Training Is On January 17th
Seems like it is so far away, but with Thanksgiving and Christmas on the horizon, everything is a blur. The journey continues with each successive training, and, like tongue-and-groove flooring, there is no beginning or end. If you have been to each training… that’s how you represent. If it's been a while since you have been to a training, you’re invited. If your practice is doing great, you’re invited. If your practice is shrinking, you’re invited. After doing this for over a quarter of a century, I stand before you in truth when I say that an invisible saboteur is your ego, convincing you that you know it all and that you’ve heard it before. During my training (which seems like a lifetime ago), I could choreograph my mentor better than he could! I had listened to his jokes, passion, and storytelling so many times before in so many states, and even in Mexico! With his persistent yapping in my ear, I felt like I knew it all and didn’t need additional input. I was the heir apparent to Renaissance International. Because of my baptism-by-fire training with Dr. Joe, I was prepared for this reaction from my ego, and I wouldn’t listen to it. Each time I sat in the seats and tuned in to the principles of serving people at the highest level, I was rewarded and insulated from future burnout, boredom, feeling let down, lack of passion, and lack of excitement. I have seen hundreds of TNR docs fall by the wayside due to their evaporation of spirit, their refusal to serve people in truth (people over profit), and their willingness to pay the price of living an ordinary life. Humanity, out-of-this-world clinical abilities, and the economics to go along with it lead the way in TNR. You can’t get it on Zoom, from celebrity speakers, or on social media. This training is live, in person, and experiential at its finest.
Christmas on the Reservation Is In Full Swing!
Something about this time of season brings out the best in all of us. We will be journeying to the Fort Peck Reservation to visit all of our friends there. There is a short window for fueling our latest Christmas on the Reservation. Monetary donations, toys, winter coats, and even a small amount of food from Main Street Grocery are front and center. In addition to handing out and playing with the kids and their new gifts, we will also hand out food to those in extreme need. So that you know, airline tickets to Williston are at historic lows. This is a great time to invite a VIP practice member or two.
From the Mind of Miyagi
Pain and suffering continued: There is a vast difference between the disease or pain challenge and the suffering or struggle that gets automatically attached to it. The ego welcomes any disease or pain challenge to rain fire on the unfortunate individual. Fear, doubt, anxiety, and depression are just some of the SS men that carry out the orders of the small self, mind, and ego. An example is breast cancer. The disease process involves breast and lymphatic tissue, with the potential to metastasize to bone or other organs. This is separate from the suffering imposed by the small mind or ego. The symbol of femininity in this culture is going to be amputated. Will I lose my beauty in the eyes of men? Will I ever have sex again? Will my spouse or lover find me attractive or see me as damaged goods?
With traditional methods of treatment, the person gets plunged into a statistical quagmire. What is their survival rate compared to other people? What do other people have to do with them? They get pulled into the invisible underworld of disease. Regardless of the amputation, radiation, or chemo (napalm) killing the disease, the suffering and emotional effects remain in place, often for the rest of their lives. Most survivors continue to look over their shoulders for the rest of their lives. Deep in their bones, they are happy for their survival, but they know they have not been healed.
This concept applies to any disease, pain, or suffering/circumstance that befalls people. When you address the physical body only, there is only so much that you can do. Look at a heart attack. It appears to the world of the ordinary as a sudden event; in actuality, it has taken years to decades to produce. The physical damage may or may not heal, yet the fear, doubt, anxiety, and depression remain. As ancient healers intuited, there is more healing available in the non-linear than in the linear.
The Baseline Assessment and the DCME video are two tools that explore this dimension without turning you into a low-paid life coach! These tools are not tools in and of themselves; they are catalysts for superior clinical results! You can use them and see the difference. They are not necessary with superficial, self-resolving cricks and sprains. If you have the bravery to take on the big boys, they are part and parcel of your toolbox. Only TNR members know about or use these.
Miracle Training
One of the most satisfying aspects of Miracle Training is the shift in clients from self-centeredness to serving the highest good of others. Just today, my Miracle Training client (those who were at the last training met him) came through the door, and I mentioned that my son’s office flooded over the weekend. I told him I was going there after we finished up with his session. Now, here is a person who has limited ambulation skills (temporarily), and he asked, why don’t we go see what we can do right now? I asked if he was sure since this was his time. He said absolutely and asked if we should take his truck in case we had to go to Home Depot to get some equipment.
When people are in the grips of hell, they are usually very fearful of the future for themselves and their families. My experience is that within the first few months, there is a softening, and they see a glimpse of hope that everything will be okay—namely, the years of participation in LHNC, training, etc. One year, a former Miracle Training client, a pro hockey player, donated dozens of hockey sticks to the Reservation. With this shift, they are lighter and more fun to be around because help is on the way. People feel when they are genuinely being held, don’t let me go, sheltered, etc.
Members who have been in TNR for a while know that not all people who are stuck in the thorns are easy to be around, or, for that matter, grateful. Holding space and giving grace is often personally challenging. Do it anyway! So that you know, applause is not always forthcoming. Please do the right thing even when nobody’s watching or it isn’t trumpeted on social media. Represent and demonstrate rather than call for personal adulation.
DCME Confidential
My DCME/Level 2 client is consistently skeptical and cynical. He harps on his impression that things haven’t changed that much. Do you agree that I should be further along?
Answer: Keep in your lane and ignore his ego’s nonsense. It isn’t easy, but don’t let it get under your skin. People in the briar patch are not always happy campers.
Question 2: My DCME/Level 2 client insists that if they were rid of their current circumstances, they would be so happy. Is that true?
Answer: It’s just not true. Speak to me personally on your next coaching call, and I will give you 10 examples of why this isn’t true.
