TNR Happenings November 18, 2019

Mystery Event on March 20 & 21, 2020 to be announced!
You will be receiving the long awaited announcement and details in the mail (Canada docs will also be receiving it via email.) This is something I’ve wanted to present for years but it’s about subject matter that nobody wants to talk about until the proverbial sh*& hits the fan. There’s nothing else like this anywhere. There will be a strict cap on the number of participants for this event. First come first served. Don’t wait, claim your ticket immediately!
Love Has No Color gift raising ends on Monday, November 25th
Can it be? The deadline is rapidly approaching. Let your CAs in on your mission. They also have great influence with your people. Finish strong. Have a laptop dialed into the online donation site (https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/christmas-on-the-reservation-2019) for your people. Just like doctors, practice members also get busy, busy, busy. Sometimes it’s best to just do donations. For other offices, you want to see hundreds of gifts announcing that you are not just a doctor, but a humanitarian. You are all in for these kids living in third world conditions. Imagine a new patient coming in and seeing a tree with all the gifts under it. What a boost in trust and believability. If you want to be involved in the gift purchasing or have great ideas, simply call the elves of TNR. We are ordering a whole lot of gifts this week!

Practice tip of the week
Do one new thing each day or each week for your office. From promotion, to office procedures, videos for practice members, paperwork, etc. Sometimes you can feel overwhelmed or washed out due to all the responsibilities of being a TNR warrior. It’s a good thing as it doesn’t let you sink into boredom or the mundane drone of one activity after another. Let’s say you did a Head-to-Head and you had 5 things to do. Do one of them this week. Take the easiest one, say make a poster of the Baseline Assessment or the concentric circles. If you have a book you’ve been getting to, read a chapter or two every few days. Don’t hide from your tasks. They have a way of stealing personal power from a warrior. Procrastination is just one of the tools your ego uses against you in the warriors’ journey. Every time you accomplish a task, your muscles of courage are exercised and you increase your ability to soar to higher levels than the common man who counts down the days until the weekend.
From the Mind of Miyagi

(Editor’s note: this is an excerpt from the actual presentation for parents of at-risk teens and young adults).
“Welcome to the underworld or confederacy known as Looking Through the Eye of the Dragon. It’s a heavily guarded group of invisible at-risk kids and young adults in society today and nobody wants to talk about it, much less step up and help these kids. It connects us all and yet is only spoken about in hushed tones. Every DUI, vehicular homicide under the influence, school shooting, suicide, incarceration, crime, murder, domestic violence, or violence against children and women has its roots in the underworld of the dragon. Every federal tax dollar you pay has 15 cents plus in it for incarceration, court system costs, and police and federal agencies costs to deal with the dragon. The guilt, grief, humiliation, and shame in these underground ‘dragon’ families are unparalleled in our society.
Being involved in kids’ lives so much with sports, coaching, and being a team Chiropractor for sports teams, I noticed families that had a certain look on the parents faces, were always distracted, sleep deprived, anxious, and were never in the moment. More lipstick and mascara couldn’t hide these tell tale signs. It was much more than a worried look. It had grief written all over it and there was no relief in sight. They were stuck in survival mode. I had seen this look before with autistic children’s parents and with wives, girlfriends and parents of soldiers returning back stateside with PTSD. It was the look of a death sentence, they were being haunted by something they didn’t understand, and there was no hope, just activities that pretended to achieve results.
I didn’t notice it at the time, I was being welcomed into the underworld of the dragon. I noticed that without exception, these kids had all been to multiple doctors, therapists, and multiple facilities, and were always on huge amounts of medications. Yet the family remained prisoners to the dragon’s grasp. It always seemed to me that results from treatment for injuries that you can touch, like a torn ACL or a broken collarbone, were pretty good and predictable. With this group, however, the condition was invisible and treating it or getting results was difficult, if not impossible. It was like they were being haunted by a ghost.
Even though I didn’t have all the answers, I knew someone had to step up for these kids and it might as well be me. It was then I started welcoming them in my office and doing as much for them as I could at the time. Lots of at-risk teens, young adults, addictions, violent behaviors, concussions, anxiety, suicide, bi-polar, multiple personalities, you name it, they walked through my doors. I felt a special kinship to these kids who had fallen through the cracks and now they were on my watch. I noticed that as angry, defiant, violent, or depressed these kids were, they were frustrated they lost control over their lives. All of their behaviors and actions covered the fact that they were lost and couldn’t find their way back home. They certainly wouldn’t ask for help, especially from parents.
Society doesn’t understand the underworld of the dragon. They actually think there are simple solutions to complex problems. When you get angry and frustrated at a problem, you can be sure you don’t have the answer. When you have the solution, it’s more of let’s get to work. We don’t get angry and frustrated if we see a child with developmental delay. We know they have a ceiling on their abilities and mentality. We don’t get angry and frustrated if we see a kid with diabetes or cancer, and yet we do with kids in the dragon’s grasp. There is such shame and guilt associated with these kids and, as a result, nobody wants to talk about it.”
With the invention of the Baseline Assessment, you get to see so much more than merely a symptom with your people. The BA is a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of the long-standing damage and compromise of the nerve system. Dig deeper than the presenting complaints. Stop thinking it’s back and neck pain only: there’s something bigger and darker just below the surface. Not only will your cases require more care, you will change the logistics and metrics of these kids and adults.

Mystery guest going to the Reservation?
There is a persistent rumor that there is a person we all know that is traveling to the Reservation to hand out gifts. Here are the hints: she has never been to the Reservation and yet she knows a whole lot about it. She makes the best grilled cheese and tuna sandwiches in the world. She also has an adorable, long-haired German Shepherd named Hachi Bear. Any guesses?
DCME confidential

Question 1: Is it okay for someone else to pay for DCME care?
Answer: It’s a paradox, so it’s yes and no. If it’s a teenager, the parents will pay most times. I always recommend that they work off the debt when they recover. The famous Stevie, a DCME of mine who visited the Reservation, worked at TNR to offset his debt. What about if it’s an adult? If someone else pays, it can get complicated. Results diminish and gratefulness is sometimes lacking. 100% of your successes will pre-pay. You will observe lots of payment compromises with your failures. Keep it as simples as you can.
Question 2: What happens if a DCME client refuses to do the 21-Day DCME Video Program?
Answer: Who is in charge? Perhaps they don’t like to have their L1 and L2 adjusted. Maybe they think they don’t need to come in as frequently as recommended. I know this: people who do the DCME program consistently yield superior results compared to those who won’t do it. In our society, the 21-Day DCME Video Program serves as a ritual to clear obstacles in the past that adversely affect the present. What are you going to do about it?
