The Pulse of TNR!

*Thanksgiving 2017 Edition of TNR Happenings

Happy Thanksgiving:

We have so much to be thankful for in TNR, but we are especially thankful for our wonderful members who support our vision: Healthier People = Healthier Planet. I am also very thankful for DCs who play all out and allow me to help them with some of the shadow parts of their personality that rob them of being the best versions of themselves. Thank you, one and all for not looking for shortcuts, loopholes in training, or reasons for not being a once in a lifetime DC. It is an honor and privilege to be your leader.

TNR:

TNR is a home where you are supported unconditionally, challenged to be your best, and encouraged to elevate Chiropractic from pain relief to health expression for all. As with all journeys, the path is not always straight, well lit, or with signposts. We learn more from our failures, mistakes, and shadows than from our victories. Having quality people in your life that are there for you and in your corner adds to the purpose of your life. Being different and believing in health sure is difficult in the land of disease. Helping people who resist your efforts is challenging. Do it anyway with a smile on your face.

Last 2 weeks to gift raise for Christmas on The Reservation:

Can’t believe it? I know, right? You know your practice members, they are like everyone else…they wait until the last minute. Some people are crippled by the resistance of shopping. Let them go directly online and order or donate right from your office. Make it easy for them! If you have a PM who wants to go the extra mile, have them SUPERSIZE their gifts or donation. Recognize your VIP PMs by inviting them to deliver the gifts on the reservation with you. Offer the gift to them, don’t make the choice for them by not inviting them. People who visit the reservation year after year say the true meaning of Christmas is revealed in a different dimension on the reservation with needy kids. Then having Christmas at home somehow seems extra special.

Practice tip of the week:

COMMUNICATION. There is a thread that binds us all and, unfortunately, it’s not Chiropractic. It’s not health. If you want to be able to communicate to people, it’s through them, not at them (like a lecture). If you jump too quickly or pounce on them with Chiropractic, they will go into a defensive mode with shaking their heads in agreement (to politely get you out of their grill), saying it sounds interesting. That, or they will resist you every step of the way. Then, like with diving, they surface too quickly and they will get the bends.

On Saturday I went to Steiner Family Chiropractic for a mini H2H with Drs. Randi Jo and Marc. We were enjoying a scrumptious lunch across the street and had a nice waitress serving us. The waitress had no idea that their office was across the street and up the road 1 minute, and she didn't know much about Chiropractic. To jump right into the story of Chiropractic may have too steep of a learning curve for many. So, we looked for a connection. We noticed that the young woman had a unique tattoo on her wrist which obviously meant something special to her. I asked what it was. She replied that it was the moon and the stars and it was about her mother’s love for her. She also said she had one on her thigh that remembered her sister who passed away. Another person in the conversation also had a sister pass on and there was a father in the conversation that had a daughter pass on. Right then, the relationship changed. We were not just customers to be waited on, we were connected.

Get people into your office, and then you can talk about what we do. When you first meet people, let that person know you recognize them on a deep level instead of the superficial, fake social meeting most engage in. Oh hi, nice to see you!  If you push too hard to educate or convince outside your office, people will resist you. If they feel like you know them, they will suspend their resistance to understand what you do or how you can help them, and they will be willing to trust you.

I know you’re all getting excited to go to the Reservation, and so we wanted to re-attach Kenny  Smoker’s podcast from this summer. Enjoy!!
