Final push for Christmas on Reservation

If you are planning to attend the event and hand out gifts, please let headquarters know ASAP! Kenny Smoker needs a list of people and the ages of the kids. So far, we have a good amount of kids attending (Dr. Helena, Dr. Sabrina, Dr. Lisa) which always adds to the festivities.

As the leader in your office, you have to be a tad pushy when it comes to gifts and donations. As well-meaning as practice members are, good intentions will not get the job done.

Here is something I wrote back in 2009 in response to a question from a non-member DC about how helping kids on a Reservation benefits their practice:

Having coached hundreds of DCs from all walks of life, our experience has identified a single missing ingredient in most offices…PURPOSE. So many DCs initially join our program with many problems such as can’t get new patients, income is down, marriage or relationship woes, low confidence, etc. These are all manifestations of a lack of purpose on the DC's part. Our program would be just another coaching program without LHNC activities. Our most successful DCs attend the most LHNC events and do the most, year after year. LHNC activities are a practical way for DCs and their teams to increase their purpose. Without purpose or an overriding reason why we live our lives, external events, such as recession, insurance coverage, gas prices, and debt, will continue to plague the DC in search of purpose.

Let’s finish strong with record numbers as we demonstrate what a group of like-minded DCs are capable of.

Next training event is the January 19th DCME

As we wind down 2018, 2019 promises to be the best ever for members. It’s also going to be the best ever for potential practice members. Everyone wants the mass shootings, the violence, the oppression, and the craziness to end. It all begins and ends with health. Unfortunately, not too many people agree with this like Chiropractors do. The largest underserved segment of the population is DCME cases, including pediatrics. Previously, people outside the purview of back and neck sprains were excluded from Chiropractic care. Not any more. Now there are no more excuses about seeing difficult cases. Get the training and keep the training going. Professional athletes don't stop training; they know they need to continuously train to stay in the game. The same applies to TNR Chiropractors. DCME gives you the training, the chops, and the confidence to take on more complicated cases. The economics of these cases will be discussed in great detail. More and more DCME trained members are reporting seeing cases and getting results they would never have seen previously. The day before the DCME Seminar has already been snatched up for a Head-to-Head. The day after the DCME Seminar is available if anyone wants to combine a Head-to-Head with their trip to Massachusetts for the event.

From the mind of Miyagi

Use communication and education rather than sales and marketing. Is it my imagination or has social media captured the attention of many a DC? Imagine if your patients were in the same seminar setting as you. What would their impressions be: out to make a killing or healthier people create a healthier planet? The silver lining (if there is a silver lining) for untrained DCs earning record lows in income is other coaching companies and management groups are encouraging them to become better communicators and educators so they won't suffer the economic penalties. The resonation, purpose, ability, and willingness of the DC take priority over all other factors. It has less to do with your technique, academics, software, billing systems, or types of tables and more to do with who you are as a person. Working on these factors in TNR will get you closer to what you want. You want success, you got it. You want results, you got it. You want to help others less fortunate, you’ve got it. Social media is a vehicle to advertising and marketing…it’s not you. No matter how you are portrayed online or offline, you will be found out when that person enters your office. Retention and referral tell the story of the depth of your relationship with practice members.

Past and present ultra-successful members share a common theme: They are investing in themselves and their offices. They are working the complete system of patient education, they use TNR style communication skills, and they don't take shortcuts. They also attend many of the TNR events and devour as much TNR material as they can.

Question 1: My wife (who doesn’t work in my office) doesn’t like the new 2-tier recommendations. She says that it makes me look like I’m doing it for the money. Dr. Kevin, I’m doing what is being recommended in TNR, and I’m not getting much support at home. How do I handle this?

Answer: It's unfortunate and too bad. Unless she is a TNR trained DC this 2-tier level of recommendations will appear foreign to her at first. When you started TNR, your adjustment fee and income were among the lowest in TNR. It doesn’t matter where you came from before joining TNR; it only matters where you’re going. A common theme to successful relationships that I have seen while guiding over 1,000 DCs is unconditional support, not understanding. It’s not her fault, but it is her responsibility to understand how her beliefs either propel or keep you where you are at with regard to economics. Spouses will not understand, but they should trust you not to betray the trust of your practice members. Take her to the reservation so she can see how a like-minded group takes care of people on and off the reservation.
