TNR Happenings November 4, 2019

Miyagi was one for the ages!
WOW! To see the inner strength of the group, from taking new graduates under the wing, to the ping pong, to the adjusting skills of members, Dr. Adam’s cake, Mila (she stole the show), and the incredible sweat ceremony. Have you noticed that pictures or recordings of the sweat ceremony aren’t allowed because it’s sacred? Also, Dr. Derrick, Tadpole, Rug rat: it’s gratifying to know there is a next generation to becoming a once-in-a-lifetime DC. The brand new flow chart is not reserved for new practitioners. Having a system in place sure beats chasing low quality, demanding, here today/gone tomorrow new patients for the rest of your career! We also covered making concentric circle and Baseline Assessment dry erase posters and the brand new, What I Stand For poster, that has a pie with slices about difficult cases, people over profit, doing what’s right, patient education, LHNC, etc.
LHNC gift raising news!
I had a long time supporter of LHNC from MI call headquarters and request if they could interview me on their Facebook live presentation (this Friday) about their raising gifts for the kids on the Fort Peck Reservation. This office really goes all out every year for the kids! Even though they don’t currently coach, they are still a part of the family and they renew their promises to the kids each and every year! A great idea: put a shout out to any former TNR coaching members who could help us this year with the kids! We are all connected when it comes to helping the kids. Tune in this Friday, November 8th at 2:15 PM EST when we go live with Dr. Jason White’s office.
Practice tip of the week
Make a decided effort to move your CAs from trusted members of your team to advocates for growth. Your CAs are more than merely clerks. They used to be called new patient advocates. Yes, they have many hats to wear from caring for your members, collecting insurance, paperwork, colonization duties, compliance issues, administrative duties, etc. Start letting them read the TNR happenings, portions of appropriate TNR literature, and some of the easier TNR books, but don’t start with Power vs. Force or the Smell of Rain on Dust! Let them have more of a free hand in LHNC fund and gift raising. Give them more responsibility and let them begin to take more ownership in your office. Jaws dropped at the Miyagi seminar when Dr. Lisa was speaking about her top level crew. It doesn’t happen overnight, however, get rid of the old fashioned idea that your team is merely clerks. Allow them to truly demonstrate their gifts and help you each and every step of your journey towards growth.
From the Mind of Miyagi

In any group, relationship, team, etc. there is a subculture or an undercurrent that develops despite the best intentions of its leaders. This unwelcome guest is much like the browning of a juicy apple or the fungus that forms on cheese. These unwelcome guests arrive uninvited on a perfectly good piece of fruit or food that is allowed to sit too long. The unwelcome guest I speak of is the inability to see the need for change. The strategies that served you in your twenties will be exposed in your thirties. The same goes for the strategies used in your forties will be exposed in your fifties. The point being is when you see concepts in TNR that you want in your office, IMPLEMENT THEM IMMEDIATELY!
Perhaps you have 18 things to implement. One by one, check them off your list. Don’t attempt to do them all in a short period of time. Constant and continual beats the heck out of yo-yo dieting for weight loss. Better yet, bring them to your next Head-to-Head and let me help you work on the internal resistances you have to implementing them.
The new flow chart diagram shows you how to have each new patient be worth 3,5,10 or 50x that exact patient walking into the office of the DC down the street. Remember, this is every new patient you attract. It’s a permanent economic advantage and yet few will take the time and effort to implement it in their offices. Why wouldn’t you? Once it has been put in, it’s done. How about the new Don’t Sweat It Head-to-Heads that are available, complete with videos and a one-on-one sweat ceremony with Miyagi? Why wouldn’t you schedule yours as soon as possible?

So many substitutes and imitations abound in Chiropractic. So many substitutions and imitations abound in relationships. Don’t fall for the grasp of procrastination or an unwillingness to change. Failure to change means failure to grow.
Dates for participants to the Reservation
We’re just a week shy of it being a month until we head out to the Reservation! As we mentioned in a prior Happenings, the airport code for the Williston airport has changed. When you go to buy your airline tickets use the code XWA. Travel dates are Wed. December 11th and Saturday December 14th. If you have any questions contact headquarters!

DCME confidential

Question 1: The father of an 18-year old patient with epilepsy, depression, and anxiety wants to come in and talk with me even though I’ve never seen him before. The mother hired me and is practice member…HELP!
Answer: Be very careful especially with HIPPA compliance laws of confidentiality. You have just been handed a grenade and the pin has been removed. Hear the person out; however, offer no specifics because of confidentiality. Always remember that you may be getting recorded. There should be no teaching, explaining, or going off with long metaphors. A few minutes are enough. Nothing good will come of this meeting.
Question 2: My DCME has been stuck at level 2 for 3 rounds now. I’m thinking of placing them on level one. Should I?
Answer: Has this person requested this? They are demonstrating how special you are in their lives. Don’t break the chain. It’s their call, not yours. Always remember that.
Love Has No Color news
Only 21 days left to raise gifts, toys, and money. Don’t wait until the end. Show your patients how to make donations on the Crowdrise website. These donations go directly to purchasing clothing, gifts, and toys for this year’s Christmas on the Reservation. There are so many different levels of participation and ways to donate, there’s something for everybody.
