TNR Happenings November 5, 2018
Miyagi say thank you!
What a great weekend! What a special guest star! Wasn’t his insight and feedback simply miraculous? It’s nice to be reminded of how special TNR is and to see DCs who have permanently removed their names from being a face-in-the-crowd DC. Friday evening’s activity delivered as usual. ‘Falling and getting up’ and ‘leave no person behind’ are two rituals or rites of passage that have all but been abandoned in the upbringing in the laptop lifestyle. Seeing through the eyes of the practice member instead of seeing everything through your own eyes really put things in perspective. Emptying your personal cup of all the crap it contains allows you to reach your goals and experience that certainty, that centeredness that few people ever reach. Seeing the before and after empirical data of the most grizzly of cases opened more than a few eyes. The reaction of the special guest star as he was adjusted by a TNR doctor was priceless. His words: “This isn’t like the other DCs I’ve seen. Not by a long shot.” Why would DCs train this hard? It’s the ability, the mindset, and the intense connection to humanity that doesn’t accept what can’t be done. The guest star from the last DCME just donated $100 to LHNC. Hmmm, what a coincidence.
Here’s a testimonial from a participant who attended this past weekend’s Miyagi:
“You know when you go to the beach and you see people participating in the beauty of the ocean in all different ways. Some people only dip their toes in the water, some swim out and play, and some never go in the water at all. And then there are those special few who put on a snorkel or a scuba tank and they dive in to experience all there is under the surface of the ocean.
TNR is like the ocean for me and Miyagi is going full out with scuba tanks on. It is an experience of sharing, learning, and practicing with your fellow TNR Docs in an environment of love. It is the ultimate TNR event where you learn more about yourself, your practice, and your life from digging deep and watching others do the same. TNR Docs are known to play full out. Miyagi is the avenue for you to take your toes out of the water and dive right in.”
Do you live in a teepee?
Right after the Miyagi seminar on Saturday, I raced to a gala fundraiser for a foundation that Alan Jacobson runs. Alan had made the trip to the Reservation for this year’s Boot Camp so some of you met him there. The Alan’s foundation helps kids at risk in the Boston area. The featured keynote speaker on Saturday night was Kenny Smoker. Dr. Megan made the trip with Kenny so I got to spend some time with the two of them. There were some heavy duty wealthy people in attendance as well as blue collar people. Sitting next to Dr. Megan was a socialite with an aristocratic air about her who had beauty pageant good looks. She asked Dr. Megan, “Do you live in a teepee?” She meant no disrespect or malevolence; she was just ignorant to life on a reservation. Dr. Megan was shocked to hear this from an educated and wealthy person with such a condescending regard for Native Americans. By the way, these views are the way all minorities and other second-class citizens are treated by the dominant society. Kenny characterized our group to all in attendance as a special ops group that gets things done year in and year out. Just when you look back on all the great things LHNC has done and continues to do, you get bitch slapped back into reality. This genocide has gone on for hundreds of years. You may not see it in your individual offices, but it’s still there…we have lots of work to do.
Practice tip of the week
Be aware of memes that invisibly suck you in. For those of you not there this weekend, memes are sayings or concepts that are repeated in society, and regardless of their truth, they are believed wholeheartedly to be true. That’s invisible programming of those in charge at it’s finest. There is no morality spoken here but once memes or beliefs are accepted as true, you’re not going to change their minds. Every group, from religions to political parties and marketing companies, use them to their advantage. Sweet Spot people are more aware of memes and are willing to go outside of their toxic and limiting grasp. A meme that is being widely dispersed today, especially online, is convenience equals results, instead of commitment equals results. This is so appealing to the laptop lifestyle demographic. People are using technology to try to figure out how to attain a black belt or become a master in anything with the push of a key. A popular meme is Chiropractors are all about back pain and neck pain. Even today, people drop their jaws when you mention Chiropractic and kids. For historical perspective, look at the previous section of this Happenings for a meme lasting hundreds of years. Some people understand that it takes effort if you want to achieve results; others are looking for a better, more convenient deal where someone else will do the heavy lifting. Don’t fight against memes or try to prove or attempt to convince that certain memes aren’t true. Simply demonstrate and share your vision of health.
Look at all of your patient education procedures. Aren’t they all ways of preserving your personal power against dumb questions defending memes? By continually answering all those questions that don’t have an answer, you are making the unreal real. Of course, you have to reach them where they are at. Fighting against war can’t be solved. Fighting against disease can’t be solved. We know this to be true, yet we continue to fall into the trap in order to be accepted, liked and to fit in. Of particular note, not having a Health Awareness Seminar forces you into obeying all the mandates of the disease model of society. It takes time, effort, and ability to be able to have a weekly HAS, but the payoff is the biggest in Chiropractic: more humanity, the end of dumb and dumber questions, and unrivaled economics.
Christmas on the Reservation update
C’mon, C’mon, C’mon. ‘Tis the season! Get things rolling in your office. Once people know of the mission of LHNC, they will get behind it. Drs. Christy and Cliff Taylor had a military family with a $285 credit relocate to another state. The doctors wanted to refund the money to the family but the father told them to donate it to their favorite charity. So the doctors asked if it would be okay to send it to LHNC. He enthusiastically agreed to that. In return, the family will receive a special LHNC hand signed certificate and a thank you letter.
One of our doctors has already booked her flight and her daughter’s flight to the reservation for handing out gifts. Let us know if you plan to join us this year for Christmas on the Reservation. These kids have endured enough; let’s show them what we can do!
DCME confidential
Did you know that most members actively participating in two levels of recommendations are donating 5-10% of the pre-pays to LHNC in the name of the practice member! This is a year-round, sustainable funding that is win-win for everybody. The practice member gets a hand-signed certificate. You can also put a copy of the certificate on your wall. Your practice members will look for it every time they visit your office. Talk about street cred!
2019 TNR schedule of events coming
We will be posting the 2019 TNR Event Schedule on the website this week. Don’t wait until the week before the event to decide if you’re coming or not. Block off these dates on your calendar way in advance so you won’t miss these special training events. Some members even bring their spouses and take an extra day or two for a romantic getaway, to do some sightseeing, or to take in a Patriots, Red Sox, or Bruins game. Break the routine of doing what the average DC is doing. More input equals higher results and much higher income.
