Profiles In Courage
A group of warriors gathered over the weekend, peeling away the layers of onion of what is in the way of becoming the best versions of themselves. This won’t make sense for some. For others, it’s the essential food that feeds the spirit. It creates purpose and passion in their life. It’s about how to remain honest about yourself, open-minded, and come from an orientation that you don’t know everything about. Above and beyond academic qualities, technique, billing software, and insurance coverage, there is a ‘why’ that fuels and powers a person to unsuspecting heights if they know how to tap into it. This is not new age-like, witchcraft, or magical; it’s as predictable as gravity or electricity. You weren’t told in professional school that healing is not universal and the batting average of practitioners varies as much as strength in a gym. Do you really think your analytical focus is stronger than the healing force of the universe? Is your analytical focus stronger than the power that built us, our children, and everyone else? In the world of ordinary affairs, who cares? Some people get better and others don’t…right? WRONG! You have so much more to offer your people. And by the way, this is what allows you to earn more than others who are okay with being just average. This is not subject to the opinions or expectations of others, including family members, practice members, real doctors, scientists, politicians, etc. Believe me, it’s worth the effort of being a once-in-a-lifetime doctor or healer!
"Every time I begin to doubt and lose trust in myself, I know I need more TNR training. It’s the very thing I need to become re-grounded and centered. In a world of superficiality and practitioners that value profit over people, it’s all too easy to fall prey to lower standards and mediocre patients, relationships, and life. I’m forever grateful for this safety net of Dr. Kevin and TNR where I know I’ll be reminded of my power, snapped out of my bullshit stories, and pushed/held to a higher standard than anyone else does in my life."
"What does it mean to live for something bigger than myself? Participating in training sustains me on this journey toward something bigger than this material world. New cars, clothes, and toys fade, break, and lose their juice. Living a life with purpose and meaning is for the few… For these few, there is no other way. Training keeps me current, keeps me focused. Being belly-to-belly with other once-in-a-lifetime people on their journeys helps me to see beyond my own problems and pitfalls. Witnessing their courage and commitment to a bigger vision encourages me to keep going. Thank you Dr. Kevin for your continuous, unrelenting commitment to guiding others toward the best versions of themselves. P.S. The food and treats were so tasty! Dr. Julie, you keep out-doing yourself!"
"Having Miyagi Training after 30 days of Miracle Training helped to solidify and reinforce everything newly uncovered during my 30 days. Seeing how we all are held hostage by the hauntings and ghosts from our past and current lives, these new trainings sink in much deeper and show us how capable we can be when we see ourselves as whole instead of f***ed up. We are not the stories of being deficient… We have the power to change our lives, and the continued training here in TNR with Dr. Kevin illuminates the Path to get and keep our lives on track personally and professionally. The Miyagi Training helps to show us we can help people with all the tools we have learned, and heal ourselves along the way."
Christmas On The Reservation
Donations, donations, donations! We have been receiving some larger donations than usual. Some are from VIP practice members who have participated on the Reservation; their gratitude is being paid forward. What a gift to share with VIP people in your community: A chance to glimpse behind the curtain and see Love Has No Color in action. How about bringing your spouse? Get away from the kids and expected duties for a few days and check in with each other. Before TNR, when did you have the actual option of creating joy in the hearts of kids living in third-world squalor? We choose to demonstrate and not foist our beliefs or views on people. We lead by demonstration. Action, not more words. You don’t need to prove, convince, etc. Just share the opportunity with your people and watch people follow your lead. It’s us or it doesn’t get done. And yes, we will have time to shop for artifacts, blankets, and trinkets.

From the Mind of Miyagi

Putting the invisible into form so that it becomes visible is called a transpersonal commitment. You can’t see it, feel it, or touch it, but it’s so obvious when you experience someone with it. Think of Kenny Smoker here. The Big Vision is lost in the world of appearance. It’s a loyalty to something: a cause, a group of people, a nation, or an ideal. Imagine having a transpersonal commitment to bringing health to a world of sick people who don’t know they are sick. This commitment came before you were married, had kids, bought your house, etc. This makes all personal relationships relative; that is, it makes them less central than the transpersonal commitment. You had this before, during, and after other personal relationships. We have a member who has a 3-year-old who is possessed by a strange force that creates out-of-this-world devotion and commitment to the task at hand at such a young age. He has a single-minded focus on what’s before him. He cares not for the ‘yea’ or ‘nay’ of those around him. His making of a costume for Halloween was not the choice of many. After it was conceived, constructed, and worn, he exclaimed, “I’m a box!” His excitement and pride in completing and seeing it through are not shared by the majority at any age. Many around him could not fathom his enthusiasm for such a pedestrian outfit. NOT HIM! This is so counterintuitive, and yet it resonates a truth deep inside all of us.
The warrior’s loyalty and his sense of duty are to something beyond and other than himself and his own concerns. This transpersonal commitment is variable, x,y,z. Think of a Navy Seal who is tied to taking orders from corrupt, power-hungry people who will stop at nothing to enforce their will on others. The Samurai also had this transpersonal commitment to the drug cartel of their times as well. It’s not what this commitment is tied to necessarily, it’s the archetype of out-of-this-world commitment to a cause. It hones the warrior into an efficient spiritual machine trained to bear the unbearable in the service of the transpersonal goal. It can’t be bought or found on a computer; it only comes from constant, continual training. It makes the warriors almost invincible; even if they are wiped out, they are still remembered in the hearts of Native Americans, Indigenous people, Aboriginals, First Nations, etc.
Veterans Day is tomorrow. Did you know that Native Americans fought with or against the US in every one of the wars since the European invasion?! Every single treaty signed by the US has been violated. There is no iron in the words of lawyers or the politicians of the US and yet when the Natives signed the treaties (many with thumbprints), they took an oath of allegiance to the US. They meant it regardless of the treatment they received: being relocated to desolate reservations, culture and languages being outlawed, millions of people being butchered, children being removed from their families to boarding schools, etc. Veterans are revered within the communities of Native Americans. Like a rescue dog, they gave their word and they meant it, regardless of the genocidal treatment they have received. They can attempt to exterminate them, but like the song Hotel California, “You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave’. They are still here!
Even in other parts of the world, the transpersonal commitment exemplified by Native Americans lives on. A First Nation person serving in the US Army was interrogated by Middle East enemies of the US. They were puzzled by the unmistakable look of the Indian. The interrogator said, “I thought they wiped you out.” Then they actually said, Geronimo! This person was treated with a respect reserved for warriors. Ordinary people carrying guns do not make a warrior. Other prisoners were not afforded this level of treatment reserved for ancient warriors. If you have a Big Vision, you have been riding on the shoulders of giants since the beginning of time. To not know what I speak of, or not care about it, is to be handicapped for a lifetime. This archetype dies with each person who believes the world of the ordinary will lead them to purpose and passion. It won’t and it can’t.
