November 8th Miyagi Will Not Disappoint
Persistent rumors are swirling about special guest speakers, presenters, and other surprises. You may get a glimpse of the concerns and worries of the practice member from the horse’s mouth. There is a vantage point from the doctor or healer, but what about the person who is being treated? This is the last training before the New Year, and you don’t want to miss this one! It is hard to call this a seminar since there is so much multi-layered experiential learning. Everyone there will participate, have their personal questions answered, and experience their jaws dropping. Discounted tickets are available until October 29th.
Christmas on the Reservation
It never ceases to amaze me the innovative and creative ways members fundraise! I’ve been called a horse’s ass before, but never has a horse’s ass been adorned with the Love Has No Color logo. Check out the horse that Dr. Lizzie had at her Harvest Fest. Keep the pedal to the metal, as funds are the fuel that helps us provide gifts to Native American kids in need. If you are considering joining us in person, let Head Elf, Dr. Julie, know.
From the Mind of Miyagi
Why do some people respond to treatment and others don’t? This is a poignant question that is not popular, nor convenient in doctor and healing circles. Most listen to symptoms and apply a type of cookbook that has brought forth results in the past with similar cases. This is a good start toward average, but it's not adequate if you want to distinguish yourself with healing cases that others shy away from.
Doctors who rely on outside-in fixes, including drugs, keep giving people average or median cures, and if they don’t work, they get exchanged for something that can potentially work. Now they have chemically induced side effects to contend with. So much time and effort go into classifying the disease, and casualness sets in with the resolution of the problem. Take alcohol, for example: it reacts differently in every person. Some get aggressive, some morph from a wallflower to a Chatty Cathy, some turn into Don Juans. The same drug has completely different results in different individuals.
Forming a sacred relationship with practice members is not easy, as you are not entirely in charge of it. The practice member can refuse to engage, fail to give their best effort, or exhibit other forms of vagueness. What is a doctor or healer to do? Ease up on trying to cure or fix? Watch for subtle signs from the practice member. What parts of their body do they protect? Do they carry their hands over their privates in a sheepish manner? Do they walk with their hands behind them? Really tune in to the person, not the diagnosis or the disease or pain.
Usually, the longer something has been in place, the more complications there are. Lots of people before you have done things you now have to clean up. I love seeing people, reading their intake information, and then reverse-engineering back to the person I see walking through my door. This never stops being exciting! Don’t stick to any cookbook recipe or treatment, and be open to altering your treatment with no guilt or shame. For those of you still dependent on insurance coverage, don’t let that overly influence your care plan. Stand before your people in truth. Don’t agree with what can’t be done.
Miracle Training
The emergence of the big Self comes with in-depth, intensive care. There is nothing religious spoken here; just a better version of the person, regardless of the disease, condition, etc.: a newfound confidence, reassurance never before realized, and a feeling of being ok, independent of others’ expectations or opinions. It can only be personally experienced; however, many people will chime in about something they know absolutely nothing about.
The majority of people are in the grip of the small self, or ego-mind; they are terrorized even to think there is something above and beyond the limited power of the small self, or ego-mind. But there is: to dissolve the chains of the small self and enter into the paradise of the large Self is to experience healing, love, and truth. All ages of people with any form of suffering, disease, or circumstances can yield to the miracle of the True Self. No matter how vast the darkness, it disappears with the emergence of light. With no war and no conflict, it just goes back to whence it came.
DCME Confidential
Question 1: My DCME/Type 2 is insistent that their condition is worse than ever, and I am worried that I’m in over my head. What should I do?
Answer: Sometimes a practice member asks you if you are in this with them or if you are going to let them go. You could be completely missing the nail, but usually it’s more of a void between the doctor and client.
Question 2: The mother of a 15-year-old DCME keeps pestering me with text after text, asking for progress reports and giving 'gone with the wind' accounts of her behavior. What can I do?
Answer: You know the answer, and it begins with B. You must establish boundaries with every DCME person you see. This applies especially with underage clients.
