The Pulse of TNR!

TNR Seminar and MasterMind were epic!

I have spoken at thousands of seminars, NPOs, group sessions, etc., and I have learned that there are two different types of experiences that will follow. The first is that the attendees will feel temporarily pumped up. They feel energized for a few days, or for a week or two, and then they plop right back to where they were before. They will seek lots of entertainment, academia, utterly non-contrarian skits, jokes, and articles that are popular and that all agree with.

The second reaction or experience is decidedly different. This is because the seminar will speak to DCs who are in the minority: it speaks to DCs who have a higher character. It encourages those individuals to grow by sharing, joining together, and standing for something other than self-gain. They work towards developing the skills and characteristics to become a committed person versus an involved or interested person (uhhh!). The emphasis is on the individual and then, secondarily, the material presented…not the other way around.

The seminars bring out your greatness on a continual basis. There is no beginning and no end, and everything is tongue and groove. TNR seminars are hands-on, personal, and intimate and there is nowhere to hide. They are kind of like Montessori, private,  or Charter schools, instead of typical seminars which are impersonal like public schools.

Couldn't you feel the community-like profound sense of belonging? When attendees have the second experience, they feel like different people who exhibit new behaviors and develop a new outlook on life. They connect to more people and adopt a shared interest with those that they know well and those who they don’t know at all. They shift away from the self-gain, ‘it’s all about me’ attitude. Hearing the two testimonials read by the TNR members who wrote them brought tears to many, as they asked everyone in attendance to look inside of themselves and start serving at a much higher level.

Miyagi October 20th & 21st: be there!

It’s supposedly a technique seminar, but it’s really about producing results that others can’t. Miyagi is more mental than physical, as it explores a dimension that is fragile and so easily made fun of by others. It involves extreme levels of training and you will feel confused and overwhelmed. Some people have asked, "why can’t this be a safe seminar that teaches academia or technique only?" The answer is simple: look at your results as if they are your batting average. Can you afford to have such low statistics? Can you afford to be so hesitant when it comes to achieving out of this world results? We all have different batting averages. The very mention of this reality is usually vehemently denied or brushed aside as a useless Miyagism. But the fact is…IT IS TRUE! You need to develop an inner talent that has SUPERIOR RESULTS? Don’t be someone who is weighted by philosophy without action.

Kenny Smoker says thank you

Kenny is working on so many wonderful projects for the kids and is so very busy. It’s been so hard to get ahold of him (for obvious reasons), but he made the time to write a short thank you.

Whenever you think of Kenny, don’t you think of a statesman, not a politician? Doesn’t he embody a man of wisdom and honor? A passage in an ancient book, The Tao, reminds me of Kenny:

The sage has no concern for himself

But makes the concerns of others his own

But makes the concerns of others his own

He is good to those who are good

He is good to those who are not good

That is the virtue of good

He is faithful to those who are faithful

He is also faithful to people who are not faithful

That is the virtue of faithfulness

The sage is one with the world

And lives in harmony with it

People turn their eyes and ears to him

And the sage cares for them like his own children

Practice tip of the week!

Sing your song, your way! Too many DCs have accepted insurance guidelines as set in stone. They are only guidelines for people who they have a contractual relationship with. If you insist on having only a contractual relationship with people, especially Millennials, they will not participate in your office in large numbers. Oh sure, you will attract a few but your attraction and results will not be consistent. You will sell a piece of your soul by allowing others to dictate how you should sing! They have nothing to do with results or our profession. They don’t care if your practice member lives or dies, much like how an MD gets paid whether their patients live or die. You don’t have the same luxury.

For an average DC, following the guidelines seems like the right thing to do. Let’s say you have a practice member with Tutti Frutti disease and you are mandated by insurance regulations to produce clinical results with a handful of visits. This won't happen. Tell people straight up that the insurance is meant to defray the costs of upfront care, not as a way to rid people of their responsibility to get and stay healthy. People will appreciate a doctor who stands tall in the wake of all the yes people they meet in the health care system today.
