The Head-to-Head season is upon us

Other than the Sacred Relationship Experience in March, there are no TNR events until May. So this is the perfect time to schedule a Head-to-Head. Get your date reserved!

Post DCME results

A week after our TNR DCME training seminar, three of our TNR doctors had large cases: a $16,600 case, an $8,500 case, and a $7,000 case. Coincidence? I beg to differ! These types of cases usually fall through the cracks. For the adventurous, truly connected DC, there is nothing like DCMEs. You have to go through a lot to help these people. If you are not yet ready to help people in dire straits, keep at it and keep moving in that direction. Just because you don’t have the confidence or training yet, don’t think you can’t do DCMEs. Don’t resign yourself to smaller, musculoskeletal cases only; dig in deep. You're a member of TNR and you’re better than you think!

Dr. Adam's Grand Opening in Burlington, VT is on Saturday

There are some persistent rumors that there will be TNR members in attendance to help Dr. Adam with his Grand Opening on Saturday. Everyone in TNR and beyond is invited!

Practice tip of the week

Make sure you are collecting testimonials. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is just helping people back to health without testimonials. You need to assemble a collection of written and video testimonials. So many established practitioners just don’t have a binder FULL of the wonders of Chiropractic. You’ll be sorry! It gives you confidence like you wouldn’t believe. When you're feeling overwhelmed, looking back at the testimonials of all the people you’ve helped will sure put a smile on your face. Dr. Julie came upon a decades-old testimonial from a high school football player I helped.

"Doc, Well the season is over & it was a great one. I'm sure you heard all about it. I had a pretty good year, too. I know of course that none of it would have been possible without you. I was named Globe All-Scholastic, Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, Transcript All-Stars, and in June I'm playing in the Shriners All-Star Game. I have so much to be thankful for, and I owe it all to you. Your belief in me that I could do it and generosity in letting me use your personal facilities free of charge. The '89 banquet was last Sunday. As I watched the slide show I remembered my sophomore year when I wasn't in the slides. Winning the Super Bowl over Brockton with my Dad (head coach), it seems unreal. I can't begin to express my joy. I owe so much to you. You have made my dreams come true. I can't thank you enough, Brian"

The character of the testimonial doesn’t change. Believing in people when others have discarded them or told them what can’t be done doesn’t seem like a big deal at the time; however, it is, as it changes the trajectory of their lives.

From the Mind of Miyagi

The concepts of substitutes and imitations keep coming up and rattling around in my brain. In our society, substitutes and imitations change the appearance of things but not their essence. When it comes to our offices, our relationships, and our meaning and purpose of life, it’s so tempting to reach for substitutes and imitations.

Instead of understanding the laws of Personal Power and Past History, it’s so easy to fall prey for the substitutes and imitations society offers us. Cesar Milan, of the Dog Whisperer fame, says it’s never a dog problem, it’s an owner problem. The horse whisperer says it’s not a horse problem, it’s an owner problem. The superstar real estate person on Listing Impossible, who rescues multimillion-dollar homes that can’t be sold, says it’s not a house problem, but an owner problem.

We hear the wailings and gnashing of teeth in our beloved profession. "I can’t seem to attract any new patients." "Insurance is grinding me down." "My board won’t allow me to say things on my website." "People won’t bring in their kids." "My CAs are underperforming." "I’ll get an associate to solve all my problems." The solutions we have grown to embrace and accept revolve around knowing more about the problem (information), with no regard to the solution. More information will not help anybody lose weight. The mantra always seems to be: Don’t develop yourself (essence), it’s too hard and instead rely on someone or something (bright shiny objects, advertising, marketing) to solve the supposed appearance of the problem. When the dust settles, you realize you just paid for another expensive piece of equipment or advertising that underperformed.

The current level of your practice exposes you exactly for who you are and what you stand for at this current moment in time. Once you accept full responsibility that it's not location, insurance coverage, billing software, technique, etc., you can get down to the training necessary to develop your personal power and transcend your personal history. Something external can’t change a personal belief in scarcity, limitation, and lack. This understanding not only serves you in practice, it serves you in all of your relationships, finances, and purpose and meaning of life.

30-day free trial of coaching

If you know of a high resonating DC or entrepreneur that is stuck and would make a great member of TNR, contact headquarters immediately. We are offering our 30-day free trial of coaching to see if TNR would be a good fit for them. The last time we offered 30-days of free coaching was in 2018. We have had some superstars in TNR as a result of this offering. As you may have gathered, not all applicants will be offered a slot. We are looking for Above the Line doctors or entrepreneurs who have gotten stuck and would welcome some help getting unstuck.

Love Has No Color news

Do you ever step back and look at all the things Love Has No Color has accomplished over the last 15 years? Make it a habit to visit savethereservation.org every week and look at the blogs, pictures, etc. Not only does it pick your spirit up, it connects you to a group in Chiropractic not found anywhere else. What kind of ideas do you have for Love Has No Color or Boot Camp/Fun Days, etc.? Contrary to popular belief, Kenny Smoker, Dr. Megan, and I aren't the only ones who come up with ideas about what we can do for the Reservation. Some of our best initiatives have come from members over the years who have pointed out something that they thought needed to be done.

Confidential-150x150

I have a concept to think about this week instead of questions. If one of your new patients was a 33-year-old man in a wheelchair, who is on oxygen, has rods in his spine, and has had a heart transplant and two strokes, would you offer to see him 3x a week for a few months or would you tailor a specially designed program for him? At deeper levels, you are either being relegated to the minor leagues (pain relief model only) and let the big boys (MDs) do their thing or you are going to step up and face the real possibility that you will be rejected or even made fun of. Does insurance cover it? How can you offer such a low level of care to this man? Would you offer the same level of care for him just like the next new patient coming in with a crick in their back? Pain relief is all you can offer him? This is a real case in a TNR office…what would you do?  What is your depth of belief in Chiropractic and yourself?
