TNR Happenings March 30

Certainty in Uncertain Times

Tune in Mondays at 8:00 a.m. for Miyagi Monday and Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. EST for your quick blast of Certainty in Uncertain Times. Where are the leaders in Chiropractic? When something is so obvious or so right in front of your face, I have been known to say, "You wouldn’t know a diamond if you held it in your hand" (Steely Dan reference). You may think you’re invincible to the collective consciousness of a low resonating society, but you’re not. Everyone around you will attempt to wear you down. Spouses, kids, friends, family, in-laws, media, etc. Strengthen your beliefs at all times, not just in times of adversity. Especially strengthen your beliefs in times of adversity where even brother and sister DCs will agree with what a scared and confused society believes in. Many DCs have lost their edge because they had not sharpened their swords in the relative calm of a non-pandemic world.

From the Mind of Miyagi

Some of you have watched the Hachi movie and have commented on the parallels in our lives. Being different than others in society in behavior, thoughts, and actions is not for the weak at heart. The Last Samurai, starring Tom Cruise, shows a whole nation banishing the Samurai (TNR-style DC) into the ranks of oblivion, non-relativity, or what have you done for me lately. This is not the kind of movie to watch with your kids or talkative friends that would cause distractions. It requires lots of silent reflection for the deep and the high resonating person. The soundtrack is outstanding.

The practice members that are coming into our offices now are confident, open-minded, and honest enough to at least question the mass hysteria. Don’t take them for granted. Recognize them, welcome them, and create a community of people who will ultimately change the paradigm of health. Stay in your lane and talk about health instead of joining and giving strength to the problem. These are the people looking for solutions rather than following the mass hysteria.

Since when is running away or retreating from a problem really a solution? When you don’t understand something, you judge it without knowing the solution and you do some very predictable things. You attack it, name it, react to it like an enemy. When this too shall pass, we simply aim our sights on the next enemy. Become unified by staying separate. It doesn’t even sound right saying it and yet it’s accepted and believed by the low-resonating majority as truth. Staying isolated to create unity sounds so cliché, so socialistic, and it reeks with a stench of no solutions in sight. The solution then, now, and in the future is to work towards better health in sickness, the plague, or wellness.

We use this outdated, ineffective, and low-resonating strategy in all parts of our lives. When a marriage doesn’t work out, resolution is usually an afterthought with very little time, effort, or money invested. More than 50% of society agrees with this strategy and sees no solution in sight. Divorce the spouse is the battle cry. It’s another enemy to be named and attacked instead of finding resolution, understanding, and solutions. When we don’t have the solution to addiction and alcohol, we lock them up (incarceration) and consider this the solution. When we work for others (corporations), we have to conform and adopt mainstream beliefs and behaviors, yet again. And if we don’t we get fired. We have created human resource departments solely to keep this myth alive. Pretending people can get along and work for a common goal or vision has infected every workplace. You can’t force people to cooperate, using force creates the illusion of cooperation. Cooperation is voluntary, always has been and always will be. You can’t make someone like or love you.

Can you really fight against something to defeat it? This low resonating persistent myth of fighting against real and imagined enemies that is thousands of years old fuels the beliefs of the majority: colonization, slavery, oppression, crime, violence, disease, etc. We have been told since birth to fight against enemies that society creates. Is this really so? Using force always creates immediate problems as well as even more complicated problems in the future. Were PSTD or amputations considered before waging war? Honorable veterans have put their lives on the line and look at the damage to the individual and their families when they return. The economic drag, attempting to re-enter society, and the limited clinical results all echo the difficulty of thinking that you can wage war to create peace or resolution. Instead of being against something, be for the solution. For peace instead of against war. For health instead of being against disease. It’s okay if you choose to have a limited view of Chiropractic. It's also okay if you have an expanded view of Chiropractic. Don’t hinge your beliefs on being popular or accepted by the majority.

Practice tip of the week

When I was the age of many of our readers, I doubted my mentor’s (Dr. Joe Flesia) advice regarding troubles. He said all troubles in your office and otherwise come down to three things: 1) Not enough depth of belief in Chiropractic. 2) Not enough belief in yourself to get the job done. 3) Too much belief in allopathy (medicine and science). My nephew, Gary (lead guitarist for Don’t Quit Your Day Job), asked me if all of my clients had to close their doors because his DC had closed his office. When I mentioned TNR members being open in MI, he was confused. How could this be so, he asked?

Any adversity in life separates the ‘all in’ from those just along for the ride. We see this in all arenas of life. In sports, some that are injured just won’t go through the effort of the rehab and simply quit. When Life U lost its accreditation, lots of DCs simply quit. It was the end of the road for them. Some who are in undergraduate and have courses that are too tough will simply drop out and take an easier course. Society is programmed for this. Being contrarian is not just in your practice, it’s in all areas of your life.

This is why there has never been a better time to shine as a once-in-a-lifetime DC. Be more than a business. Be humanitarian and put the needs of your people before your own. By doing so, you will create purpose, passion, and prosperity into your life. Do home visits, go out of your way, stay the course, stay off the dark, frigid, shark-infested waters of social media supplying simple solutions to complex problems, etc. Build your muscles of persistence. They can only be strengthened in adversity. All boats look great tied up at the dock until some waves and wind are whipped up.

The answer is YES!

I was recently asked would you do a Head-to-Head in the middle of this mass hysteria. The answer is a resounding yes. You get here and leave the rest to me. There has never been a better time to have a Head-to-Head! This goes for spouses as well!

Essential or non-essential?

You be the judge. Here is a DCME who completed 90 days with me. Many people have stated that the quotes in here sound reminiscent of Miyagi. You would sound like me too if you were locked up with me for 90 days, including time residing at my house. The original was written in ink on lined paper.

“Dr. Kevin, thank you for giving me the map and the compass. Thank you for being my best friend and my worst enemy, my time with you is life-changing, something I could never get from any therapists, doctors, or policemen and I don’t expect it. You gave me certainty in my life. You showed me the “A” in Alpha to replace the Beta. You gave me hope in a hopeless world. You showed me what I need to do to live. I feel more confident with your work put in me and that so many hands adjusted me and are pushing me to make the journey. I feel now that I have a purpose and I’m wanting to live. You showed me who I was when everyone was giving up and finding places to put me in. Words can’t express that you put so much time in me. That you and Julie gave me a bed and a home I can be in. Thank you for telling the lies of society and truths of reality. Thank you for being the rock I needed and not the pillow I wanted. There’s only so much I can express in words. So I’ll express them into actions…Thank you from the grateful refuge.”

Shout out to Dr. Lisa and Laura

A big thank you for referring this DCME. This is a young man who had lost his way. His mother is a courageous advocate for her son who wouldn’t take no for an answer. She knew that there was a solution somewhere, she just didn’t know where to turn. She put her entire family’s life on hold for 3 months. Seven members of TNR have adjusted this DCME and are part of this amazing young man’s life. It was a total team effort. Special thanks to Dr. Christy, Dr. Cliff, Dr. Randi Jo, Dr. Marc, Dr. Adam, Dr. Lizzie, Dr. Tyler, and Dr. Lliana for making him feel so welcome. It really made a difference with him. He makes mention of this in his testimonial above.

Pictures to make you smile

Dr. Sabrina shared some family pictures: baking bread, making homemade crackers and play dough, flying kites, and playing with funny hairstyles.

Love Has No Color news

It’s always a good time to give to Love Has No Color, not just during our fundraising and gift raising seasons. If you have people who want to donor, let us know. One of our members has a wealthy donor who wants to make a considerable gift to LHNC. I am attempting to create an emergency fund for purchasing food and household supplies for the elderly and at-risk on the Reservation. We will keep you posted.

Question 1: Have you seen a decrease in DCME cases?

Answer: It’s just the opposite! There has been an increase. Being cooped up with resistant or defiant kids with no help in sight is overwhelming and they are looking for help. Next week we will feature a testimonial from the mother of a DCME! She makes mention of this.

Question 2: I’m anxious that I won’t be able to produce results with DCMEs. Previously I was a neck, back, and shoulder guy. What should I do?

Answer: Nobody usually comes to TNR with the chops to see DCME cases. It requires training, Head-to-Heads, Miyagi Seminars, DCME Seminars, Super Academy Seminars, etc. You don’t handle DCMEs by applying the principles of back and neck pain. DCMEs are an entirely different beast. No wonder so few in the profession see DCMEs.
